Some political commentators have said that the world as it currently exists is a veritable clown world, and well, the fact that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been tapped to deliver the keynote address at a cybersecurity summit suggests they’re right, #HonkHonk.
On Thursday the cybersecurity firm FireEye enthusiastically announced on Twitter that Clinton will serve as “a featured keynote” speaker at the firm’s upcoming Cyber Defense Summit:

The annual summit’s mission is to allow those concerned about cyber security to come together “as a community to innovate, build strategies and share knowledge on today’s threats and tomorrow’s risks.”
“Now in its 10th year, Cyber Defense Summit brings together many of the world’s leading security experts, frontline heroes, government leaders, and executives from various industries to address the challenges of today’s threat landscape,” the summit’s website reads.
What remains unclear is what any of this has to do with Clinton, a woman so ignorant about technology in general that she thought that wiping a server meant cleaning it with a cloth.
The former secretary of state and failed 2016 Democrat presidential nominee is also the same woman who violated almost every single one of the State Department’s cybersecurity rules by, among other things, using a private server during her tenure at the department from 2009 to 2013 to transmit classified intelligence. And FYI, she did this without first obtaining permission.

“According to the current [chief information officer] and assistant secretary for diplomatic security, Secretary Clinton had an obligation to discuss using her personal email account to conduct official business with their offices, who in turn would have attempted to provide her with approved and secured means that met her business needs,” a report released by the State Department inspector general in 2016 concluded.
“However, according to these officials, [the relevant people] did not — and would not — approve her exclusive reliance on a personal email.”
Nor would they have approved of her using BleachBit to wipe her servers and using hammers to destroy her BlackBerry devices and hiring a mom-and-pop firm to house her server in a bathroom closet. Yes, a bathroom closet.
“Clinton chose a small IT company called Platte River Networks to handle her email servers. The company was run out of an apartment and its servers were reportedly kept in the bathroom closet,” Fox News reported in 2015.

This isn’t the first time that Clinton has dabbled in cybersecurity. Even as she was busy violating every State Department cybersecurity rule in 2010, she went ahead and made a PSA anyway lecturing other department employees to practice quality cybersecurity.
“The real key to cybersecurity rests with you,” she said. “Complying with department computing policies and being alert to potential threats will help protect all of us.”
“Protecting our cyber infrastructure and digital networks has to be a matter of national security. I think this is a responsibility we all share as Americans. But as State Department employees we have a special duty to guard ourselves and our sensitive information.”

She essentially told other State Department employees to do exactly what she herself was unwilling to do. To be fair, saying one thing and doing another is a longtime Democrat habit.
