Trump spreads urgent warning for GOP to wake up to Dems’ nationwide ‘sue until it’s blue’ strategy. It could work.

Scott Walker is urging Republicans “stand up and fight back” against Democrats and their strategy to use “endless litigation” in redistricting battles.

The former Governor of Wisconsin warned the GOP about the “sue until it’s blue” game plan by Democrats in an opinion piece published by Fox News on Monday, pointing out the number of liberal federal judges who are poised to assist the efforts.

“Pick a state, any state, and sue until it’s blue,” Walker, who is the National Finance chairman for the National Republican Redistricting Trust, wrote, noting the supposed redistricting reform being taken on by Democrats with the National Democratic Redistricting Committee, an organization headed by former Attorney General Eric Holder.

“They have spent years and millions of dollars selling the false narrative that Democrats draw ‘fair maps’ while any and all Republican-drawn maps are ‘partisan gerrymanders.,'” Walker wrote. “While rhetorically cute, their primary goal has nothing to do with fighting gerrymandering as they repeatedly claim, but to put redistricting in the hands of unelected, unaccountable bureaucrats and lifetime-appointed judges.”

Walker called out the “nationwide judicial power grab” by Democrats and urged Republicans to fight back in the face of “plenty of unelected federal judges” currently presiding over cases who would “enthusiastically toss out constitutionally drawn maps to help elect more Democrats.”

President Donald Trump tweeted his agreement with the former Republican lawmaker.

The former governor pointed to the “most glaring example” of this which occurred in Wisconsin.

Holder, who campaigned for a liberal judicial candidate in that state who lost the race in April, said it was a “wake-up call” for Democrats and called on 2020 presidential candidates to help the redistricting plan.

“This is something that candidates need to talk about, out of concern that if you win and you got a gerrymandered House of Representatives — we’ve seen that picture before,” Holder told Politico. “We’ve seen what that looks like: a progressive trying to deal with a gerrymandered House and a Republican Senate. So they need to engage more.”

One of the ways the Obama-era attorney general may be aiding in this engagement is the reported plan to formulate a pledge for Democratic presidential candidates, promising they will focus on redistricting, according to Politico.

Walker pointed out that in the Wisconsin race, Democrats “spent millions litigating against our policies while simultaneously working to elect radical left-wing activists to our state Supreme Court.”

“They wanted nothing more than to undo all that Republicans had accomplished for Wisconsin over the past eight years. Republicans fought back and stalled their plans, but the long battle to keep Wisconsin heading in the right direction has only just begun,” he added.

He sounded the alarm that if the GOP fails to fight back against the efforts of Democrats in this area, Republicans will be “in a perpetual minority for a generation.”

“For their part, Democrats are sitting back counting the cash they plan to use on their trial lawyers to fund their strategy of endless litigation,” Walker contended.  “Win or lose they are happy to spend their money on lawyers just for the talking points their liberal judges and academics give them to use on cable news and social media. They are more interested in winning the battle of the courtroom in front of friendly judges than winning the battle of ideas before the voters.”

Walker added that “preserving the rule of law is paramount to preventing the Democrats’ cynical attempt to bend the Constitution to solve their party’s political problems.”

“In order to do that the GOP must stand up and fight back to stop the Democrats’ ‘sue until it’s blue’ strategy,” Walker wrote. “If we want to continue to be able to implement our pro-growth agenda we need to make sure Republican candidates have the opportunity to make that case to voters across the country.”
