First Lady Melania Trump is not fretting over being disrespected by fashion magazine Vogue.
According to her spokesperson Stephanie Grisham, Mrs. Trump has “more important” things to do than worry about why she is not gracing the cover of the magazine which has featured former first ladies Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton.
The response followed comments made by editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour during a CNN interview which implied she had no plans to feature Mrs. Trump on the magazine’s cover, despite the first lady’s impeccable fashion style and the fact that she is a former model.
“To be on the cover of Vogue doesn’t define Mrs. Trump, she’s been there, done that long before she was First Lady,” Grisham told Fox News Friday.
“Her role as first lady of the United States and all that she does is much more important than some superficial photo shoot and cover,” Grisham said. “This just further demonstrates how biased the fashion magazine industry is, and shows how insecure and small-minded Anna Wintour really is.
“Unfortunately, Mrs. Trump is used to this kind of divisive behavior.”
Trump has not graced the cover of Vogue since she was featured on the February 2005 issue when she got married.

Obama made the cover three times when she was first lady.
“We were obviously very honored Mrs. Obama was on the cover three times when she was in the White House,” Wintour said in an interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour. “I think Mrs. Obama redefined the role of a first lady…she was fearless and it was such a joy for all of us that work in fashion.”
And Clinton’s 1998 cover photo included the tagline, “The Extraordinary Hillary Clinton.”

Wintour was asked by Amanpour about featuring first ladies and other women on Vogue covers, though Trump’s name was conveniently not brought up.
“You have to stand up for what you believe in and you have to take a point of view,” Wintour said.
“We profile women in the magazine that we believe in the stand that they’re taking on issues. We support them in the fact that we feel that they are leaders, she added about the magazine that recently featured a profile of adult film actress Stormy Daniels.
“You’re overtly political in your profiles,” Amanpour noted, pointing out that Wintour features Democrats more than Republicans.
“If you’re talking about the first lady [Michelle Obama] or Senator [Kamala] Harris, obviously these are women that we feel are icons and inspiring to women from a global perspective,” Wintour replied.
“I also feel even more strongly now that this is not a time to try — and I think one has to be fair, one has to look at all sides — but I don’t think it’s a moment not to take a stand,” she added.
“I think you can’t be everything to everybody and I think it’s a time that we live in a world, as you would well know, of fake news…[and] those of us that work at Conde Nast believe that you have to stand up for what you believe in and you have to take a point of view,” Wintour said.
Her “point of view” was not only dismissed by Mrs, Trump, but supporters of the first lady and President Trump could not agree more.
I always thought Vogue was an elitist exploitation of women with mostly advertisements and perfume smells. No real substance.
Melania is a beautiful woman and does not need to be exploited by Anna Wintour.
