Tucker Carlson: Liberals have created ‘woke fascism,’ they are forced to repeat lies

Tucker Carlson slammed Democrats for regularly practicing a “woke fascism” as they continue to apologize for their past while “bowing before their accusers on social media.”

“How do you know if you’re living in a free society?” the Fox News host asked as he opened a segment on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Friday, looking at whether one is “allowed to say obviously true things in public or are you forced to lie.”

“What if you are required to repeat things you know aren’t true? What if everyone who hears you knows perfectly well that you’re lying but can’t say so out loud. What if they’re required instead to nod along and mock sincerity as if it’s all completely real?” Carlson asked.

Quoting  from George Orwell‘s novel “1984,” Carlson argued that the current race for the 2020 presidential nomination is filled with examples of Democrats who have been walking back and apologizing over comments they have made in the past after being criticized by the left.

He pointed to Mayor Pete Buttigieg of South Bend, Indiana, who apologized because he said “all lives matter” a few years ago.

“He said it because it’s true, all lives do matter no matter what they look like. Every life has value, period. That’s the message of Christianity and of the civilization that it spawned in the West,” Carlson said. “But in the modern Democratic Party, that can no longer be acknowledged so Buttigieg apologized for his wrong-think.”

The Democratic candidate expressed his regrets over his comments made in a 2015 speech dealing with police controversies in South Bend as he addressed his words recently at an event in New York hosted by Al Sharpton.

“I’m sorry I said all lives matter. I won’t say that again,” Carlson mocked after playing a video clip of Buttigieg. “Going forward only some lives will matter, whatever lives the party deems meaningful.”

Carlson went on to speak about Robert “Beto” O’Rourke who has “no dignity,” mocking him because he “fell apart completely” when he was challenged on a joke about his wife staying home to raise their children.

“He groveled and and whimpered and abased himself and even expanded the self-criticism and apologized for how he was born,” Carlson added, referring to O’Rourke’s remarks that he would be more thoughtful about his white privilege going forward.

“This is what Maoist tribunals looked like during the cultural revolution,” Carlson noted after playing a clip of O’Rourke.

“Pretty much everyone running as a Democrat this year has had to face inquisitions like this. They write their confessions of guilt bowing before their accusers on social media and begging for forgiveness,” Carlson said, pointing to another example with New York Senator and 2020 contender, Kirsten Gillibrand, who apologized on the air for her past views on immigration and the border.

“There’s nothing liberal about any of this, obviously, it is purely authoritarian, woke fascism,” Carlson argued.

“Power over ideas in place of thinking, obedience, in return for dissent, punishment, lying as an official policy, and not just conventional lying, the ordinary truth-shading of everyday life but terrifying, full inversion lies, the exact opposite of the truth, the kind of lies that regimes that seek total control must tell in order to maintain their power,” he said.

Carlson cited an example, saying “the latest of these lies is that low grade mafia figure Al Sharpton is in fact a legitimate civil rights leader,” as he aired video clips of Democrats speaking at the National Action Network gathering in New York.

“Where were these people in the mid-1990s when Al Sharpton was denouncing a Jewish landlord in Harlem as a ‘white interloper’ just before his store was fire-bombed and eight people were killed?” Carlson asked before mocking Democratic candidates who support reparations.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’RE MISSING …

“Well it’s like an altar call. In fact, it is an altar call – the modern version,” He said.

“The bigger question isn’t will we get reparations in this country. The real question is do you want to live in a place where people like the ones like you saw on the screen have more political power, where humor and dissent are criminal acts, where lying is the currency of public life, where authorities whose names you don’t know can destroy you for thinking the wrong things, Carlson concluded.

“You’re familiar with that world, you’ve seen it before. It’s called Twitter,” he said. “Imagine if it had control of the U.S. military.”
