Fox News opinion host Chris Wallace claims Robert Mueller’s final report did not clear President Trump of obstruction of justice — or even vindicate him on collusion charges.
The anti-Trumper also suggested that the bogus FISA warrants that were improperly obtained to spy on 2016 Trump campaign aides were acceptable.
Wallace — a registered Democrat — says it’s too early for Trump to take a victory lap even though the Mueller report concluded there was no evidence of collusion between Russia and the Trump 2016 presidential campaign.
Chris Wallace: Mueller Report Not a ‘Clean Bill of Health’
US Attorney General William Barr will release the entire Mueller report (redacted to keep out classified intel) in mid-April.
Fox News host Bill Hemmer played a clip of conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh slamming the unverified dossier that resulted in the appointment of special counsel Robert Mueller. Limbaugh said:
“They began an investigation based on a phony dossier that was created and written by associates of Hillary Clinton. It was opposition research.
“This is outrageous what has happened here. There needs to be an investigation into this, there needs to be accountability for everybody who participated in this.”
In response, Chris Wallace said the Mueller report will still hurt Trump because it drums up negative things that Mueller desperately tried to find.
“When the report comes out — particularly on obstruction — it is not a clean bill of health. Barr ended up saying he didn’t think there was a basis for prosecution, but they’re going to able to say well, ‘He did this or this happened.'”
Chris Wallace: Mueller Report Doesn’t Vindicate Trump
There’s widespread bipartisan consensus that the Mueller report vindicated President Trump because the probe ended with no indictments against him.
This is significant because the mainstream media screeched around the clock for the past two years that the Mueller probe would end with President Trump, Ivanka, Jared Kushner and Don Jr. going to jail. That did not happen.
However, Chris Wallace bleated the Democrat talking point that the final Mueller report does not clear Trump.
For the record, if there’s no indictments, that means there’s insufficient evidence that a crime was committed. That’s called vindication.
Wallace also disagreed with Rush Limbaugh, saying that even though Mueller improperly obtained FISA warrants on the basis of sham allegations, the Russia collusion investigation was not improper.
“There is only one other point I do want to make. And I know this is going to drive some of our viewers nuts.
The Trump investigation did not start with the FISA warrant and Carter Page and even the dossier. It started in June and July of 2016 when George Papadopoulos had spoken to a Russian agent and spoke to an Australian diplomat and said he had heard they had information on — dirt on Hillary Clinton. That’s when the investigation started.
It wasn’t October, it wasn’t September. It was in July and it was George Papadopoulos. Not to say that the FISA warrant…was a legitimate basis for inquiry, but that is not where the investigation started. It is just a fact.”
Attorney Alan Dershowitz: Mueller Report Vindicates Trump
Meanwhile, Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz says Mueller’s final report vindicates President Trump because it proves this was a bogus narrative that was promoted by the anti-Trump media.
Dershowitz — a lifelong liberal who voted for Hillary Clinton — says CNN and other media propagandists should be ashamed of themselves for trying to gaslight the public with a phony narrative simply because they don’t like Trump.

Chris Wallace is used to holding positions that others disagree with. In February, Rush Limbaugh schooled Wallace, saying President Trump has the right to declare a national emergency to build a border wall when Wallace said he didn’t.
