Fox News host Ed Henry asked former DNC chair Donna Brazile if she finally accepts the legitimacy of President Trump now that special counsel Robert Mueller has concluded that there’s no evidence of Russian collusion.
Brazile — who was caught leaking debate questions to Hillary Clinton in order to rig the 2016 Democrat primary election in her friend’s favor — says she conditionally accepts Trump as the legitimately-elected president.
Brazile: I Kinda-Sorta Accept Trump as Legitimate President
Ed Henry asked: “Do you now accept the President as the legitimate president of the United States, having won the 2016 election fair and square?”
Brazile gave an incoherent response, but finally admitted that she does — kinda-sorta. However, she also attacked President Trump before making her half-hearted concession.
“I believe that the President and his attacks on not just his opponent — but the way in which he’s conducted himself in office as our president [was wrong]…He has to prove that he is worthy of the job that George Washington held over 230 years ago.”
“I’m willing to accept the fact that you had nothing to do with it, if only you will spend the next 589 days in office — doing everything in your office, in your power as the president of the United States — to protect us from future hacking once again.”
I’m willing to play, but don’t ask me now to celebrate when I’m still feeling the hurt and the pain of what happened in 2016. I played the game…I will not re-litigate 2016. I ain’t relitigating anything but my age.
This is the moment that we all can rise to the occasion. Ed, let me say this as American: I accept the fact that the president had no finger in it.
But did he move a hand to ever stop it? And did he put something in the game to make sure it never happens again? That’s how I will judge him. That’s just Donna. I can’t speak for anybody else.”
Flashback: Brazile Helped Hillary Cheat on CNN Debate
As BizPac Review reported, Donna Brazile was caught leaking debate questions to Hillary in order to help her win the party’s nomination in 2016.
At the time Brazile — a longtime pal of Hillary Clinton — was the interim chair of the Democrat National Committee and a CNN contributor.
Brazile reportedly got her hands on the debate questions through her work ties at CNN and gave them to Hillary before CNN hosted its primary debate between Hillary and Bernie Sanders.
Brazile was forced to resign in disgrace from the DNC and CNN following the scandal, but her tattered credibility has never recovered — and neither will CNN’s.
