ISIS bride gets her case expedited, judge schedules immediate hearing. Pompeo required to attend.

A federal judge originally appointed to his post in 2004 by then-President George W. Bush has chosen to expedite the case of former Alabama resident turned jihadi bride Hoda Muthana, an Islamic terrorist who’s quit ISIS and decided she wants to return home to the states.

U.S. District Judge Reggie B. Walton specifically ruled Tuesday that both Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and the attorneys for Muthana must appear in court next Monday for a hearing.

It’s unclear what date the hearing would have been scheduled for had the judge not chosen to capitulate to demands from the Islamic terrorist’s lawyers that her case be expedited.

The suit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia last week against Pompeo, Attorney General William Barr and President Donald Trump. Since Muthana currently resides in a Syrian refugee camp, the suit was initiated by her father, Ahmed Ali Muthana, and his attorneys.

The suit requests that the court force the Trump administration to recognize Muthana’s former citizenship and allow her and her son to promptly return to the U.S.

The suit was filed a day after the president announced that he wouldn’t allow Muthana to return to the United States. Later that same day the U.S. State Department released a statement announcing that it no longer recognizes Muthana as a U.S. citizen:

“Ms. Hoda Muthana is not a U.S. citizen and will not be admitted into the United States. She does not have any legal basis, no valid U.S. passport, no right to a passport, nor any visa to travel to the United States. We continue to strongly advise all U.S. citizens not to travel to Syria.”

Muthana, 24, was a U.S. citizen who was born in Hackensack, New Jersey, and later lived in Alabama up until she chose five years ago to fly to Turkey, renounce her citizenship and join ISIS.

Now flash-forward to roughly six weeks ago, when she fled an ISIS-controlled village in Syria for unclear reasons and was subsequently captured by Kurdish forces and transferred to a camp.

She then began pleading for re-entry into the United States, telling the media that she’s a changed woman. Yet her rhetoric suggests otherwise, including her attempts to excuse her past behavior by citing youthful ignorance, religious piety and alleged brainwashing.

‘”We were basically in the time of ignorance … and then became jihadi, if you like to describe it that way. I thought I was doing things correctly for the sake of God,” she told The Guardian.

And in an interview with ABC News, she seemed to excuse her prior attempts to incite violence in the U.S. by citing the death of one of her husbands, an ISIS fighter, on the battlefield.

“I was still at the peak of being brainwashed I guess and I had people all around me that were just widowed so we were very angry … because we were all just young girls married for the first time — most of us it was our first relationships — and then he just suddenly died,” she said.

When asked what sort of punishment she deserves for her treachery against the U.S., she said, “Maybe therapy lessons. Maybe a process that will ensure that we’ll never do this again.”

Listen to some of that interview below:

During an appearance on Fox News this past weekend, Pompeo made it clear that he won’t allow himself to be influenced by Muthana’s sketchy excuses and sob stories.

“[S]he’s not coming back to the United States to create the risk that someday she’d return to the battlefield and continue to put at risk American people, American kids, American boys and girls that were sent to help defeat ISIS. She put them at risk. She’s not a U.S. citizen. She’s not coming back,” he said.

“There’s litigation ongoing. Here’s what I can tell you: We have a strong legal claim that she is not a legal citizen, and she’s not coming back,” he added.

Listen:

The myriads of Americans who believe that someone who voluntarily sheds her citizenship and then proceeds to help a terrorist group wage war against the United States should never be allowed back into the states are warily hopeful he’s correct about there being a “strong legal claim.”

They’re wary because they know too well how the left operates:
