Pompeo has a crystal clear answer for ‘non-citizen terrorist’ ISIS bride suing to return to the US

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo shut down the debate on the ‘ISIS bride’ trying to return to the United States.

Pompeo dismissed the “non-citizen terrorist,” whose father is suing the Trump administration to allow her to return to the U.S., telling Chris Wallace on “Fox News Sunday” that her claim has no “legal basis.”

The 24-year-old jihadi bride, who was born in New Jersey and later moved to Alabama, renounced her citizenship and joined ISIS five years ago. Hoda Muthana claimed she was once brainwashed by ISIS propaganda and fled an ISIS-controlled village in Syria recently when Kurdish forces captured her. She remains in a refugee camp while begging for the U.S. to forgive her “ignorance” and let her return home.

The Constitutional Law Center for Muslims filed a lawsuit last week on behalf of the woman’s father, Ahmed Ali Muthana, against Pompeo and Attorney General William Barr, demanding her former citizenship be recognized.

President Trump was understandably not sympathetic to the request considering her past attempts “to incite Americans to commit acts of violence on national holidays,” according to Fox News.

“Why is her case different? Why not allow her to come back in if she was born in the US and has a passport and face justice here?” Wallace asked Pompeo on Sunday.

“She’s a non-citizen terrorist. She has no legal basis for her claim of U.S. citizenship,” the Secretary of State stated.

“And she’s not coming back to the United States to create the risk that someday she’d return to the battlefield and continue to put at risk American people, American kids, American boys and girls that were sent to help defeat ISIS,” he said.

“She put them at risk. She’s not a U.S. citizen. She’s not coming back,” Pompeo added.

Wallace questioned the issue, citing the fact that Muthana was born in the U.S. and raising her father’s diplomatic status at the time she was born.

“There’s litigation ongoing,” Pompeo replied. “Here’s what I can tell you: We have a strong legal claim that she is not a legal citizen, and she’s not coming back.”

Pompeo’s strong words found plenty of support on Twitter.
