Sen. Lindsey Graham wasn’t watching Andrew McCabe’s interview on “60 Minutes” for entertainment purposes.
The Senate Judiciary chairman demanded that the former FBI Deputy Director appear before lawmakers and testify before the committee following a bombshell interview in which he admitted there was a plan being formulated by himself and Justice Department officials in 2017 to “remove” President Donald Trump from office.
“After Mr. McCabe’s 60 Minutes interview, it is imperative that he, and others, come before the Senate judiciary to fully explain how and why a FISA warrant was issued against Carter Page and answer questions about what appears to be, now more than ever, bias against President Trump,” Graham tweeted Thursday.

The South Carolina Republican also wants to see Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein back to testify before lawmakers after McCabe admitted in the CBS interview that the men had thought about invoking the 25th Amendment against the president and that Rosenstein had volunteered to wear a wire in his meetings with Trump.
Graham indicated that he would consider a subpoena if Rosenstein refused to appear before the panel, The Hill reported.
“Yeah, I would like to know what happened. You’re having a conversation about whether or not you’re going to invoke the 25th Amendment,” Graham said. “I imagine if the shoe were on the other foot, my Democratic colleagues would want to know about that conversation if it involved a Democrat. Absolutely, I want to hear from him at the appropriate time.”
McCabe’s remarks were his first public admission in the wake of previous media reports that he had been so worried about Trump’s decision to fire disgraced former FBI Director James Comey in 2017 that discussions about invoking the 25th Amendment to remove him from office had taken place and that McCabe launched an obstruction of justice case to investigate Trump’s ties to Russia.
The Justice Department released a statement on Thursday backing Rosenstein’s previous denials and denouncing McCabe’s account in the CBS interview as “inaccurate and factually incorrect.”
“The Deputy Attorney General never authorized any recording that Mr. McCabe references. As the Deputy Attorney General previously has stated, based on his personal dealings with the President, there is no basis to invoke the 25th Amendment, nor was the DAG in a position to consider invoking the 25th Amendment,” a Justice Department spokesperson said in the statement, according to The Hill.
Trump blasted the “disgraced” former FBI Deputy Director after CBS News’s Scott Pelley previewed his upcoming “60 Minutes” interview with an excerpt released Thursday. The full interview will air this Sunday.

Rosenstein has overseen the Russia probe by special counsel Robert Mueller, who was appointed after Comey’s firing. William Barr, who was confirmed by the Senate Thursday as the new head of the Justice Department, will now take over oversight of Mueller’s investigation.
Graham vowed he would be “looking into” all the pertinent pieces following McCabe’s interview.
“That to me is an interesting moment in our history where the FBI folks will be talking about trying to remove the president. Rosenstein said it didn’t happen. McCabe said it did … I’m going to look at all of this,” the senator said.
