Trump was right all along: New report on Don Jr’s ‘secret’ phone calls is dashing liberal dreams

In what should come as no surprise at all to President Trump and his supporters, new information knocked the feet out from under theories about mystery phone calls made by Donald Trump Jr. in 2016.

As Robert Mueller drags on with his Russia investigation, more evidence continues not to surface of any form of collusion between Trump’s 2016 election campaign and Russia. And a new report on Thursday indicated that the Senate Intelligence Committee had received records that revealed Trump Jr.’s infamous phone calls before the Trump Tower meeting that year were actually not with his father, according to CNN.

“Records provided to the Senate Intelligence Committee show the calls were between Trump Jr. and two of his business associates,” CNN reported Thursday, citing “three sources with knowledge of the matter.”

After nearly two years of finger-pointing by Democrats, the revelations seemed to shoot holes in the theories and, as CNN noted, “appear to contradict Democrats’ long-held suspicions that the blocked number was from then-candidate Donald Trump.”

CNN reported:

The information came to light recently and could answer one of the key questions over the meeting Trump’s eldest son set up to get Russian dirt on the Clinton campaign. Trump Jr.’s phone calls involving blocked numbers — meaning the numbers are private and do not appear in the phone records — have been a lingering issue as investigators have probed the meeting and whether Trump himself had advance knowledge through any means that his son, son-in-law Jared Kushner and then-campaign chair Paul Manafort met with a Russian lawyer promising dirt on Hillary Clinton.

Despite all of the grandstanding by House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff who has slammed Republicans for not following through on details of the phone calls and has called for a subpoena to Trump Jr., it seems Democrats have been left with an empty bag.

The president called out the “witch hunt” by Democrats in a series of tweets after the report came out Thursday.

As conservative radio host Mark Levin noted on his show Thursday, the president was right all along when he denied knowing anything about the infamous Trump Tower meeting, or that his son had called him about it.

“Donald Trump, our president, has been telling the truth from the beginning,” Levin said, accusing everyone from Democrats like Schiff to the mainstream media of pushing the phony propaganda.

While it remains to be seen how prominently the story will be reported by the liberal media which has been a mouthpiece for Democrats attempting to take down Trump, Twitter users quickly weighed in on the revelations.
