On Wednesday MSNBC talking head Nicolle Wallace inadvertently admitted why the entire legacy media complex has been freaking out over former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz’s potential candidacy for president.
“[P]eople are terrified,” she said during a discussion with Schult’s campaign strategist and adviser, Steve Schmidt, referencing far-left “people” like herself in the demonstrably left-wing media.
“And people are terrified that you, one of the most visible Trump critics, are now behind someone they feel like can take away the Democrats’ best chance of toppling Donald Trump.”
Wallace openly fretted as she grilled Schmidt over Schultz’s decision to possibly run as an Independent and ditch the radical Democrat Party.
As Schmidt tried to calm down Wallace with some facts, she breathlessly shrieked, “But, we’re already scared!”
And there it is.
Listen to the full back-and-forth between her and Schmidt below:
The entire media melted down in real time Sunday when Schultz announced that he was considering running for president as an Independent, not a Democrat, so as to give voters an option besides what he considers to be America’s two inordinately flawed main parties.
By Thursday dozens (if not hundreds) of pieces had been posted by the likes of The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Huffington Post, The Intercept, The Atlantic, the Detroit Free Press, NPR, CNN, New York magazine, The Week magazine, Time magazine, etc., excoriating Schultz for running as an Independent and, in some cases, begging him to not run at all.
TV “journalists” have been just as critical. On Tuesday MSNBC “journalist” Chris Hayes nodded in agreement as a Democrat party operative called Schultz’s centrist outlook a “fringe” movement.
…
Listen:
And yet “journalists” in the mainstream media still wonder why a majority of Americans distrust their “reporting” and believe they’re nothing but Democrat Party hacks …
As Wallace made clear in her statement Wednesday, the media are pro-Democrat, anti-Trump partisans who want nothing more than to see President Donald Trump removed from office, preferably via the “phony witch hunt,” as the president calls the ongoing investigation into Russian collusion.
But since that investigation has thus far been entirely unfruitful — or at least in regard to rooting out evidence that Trump colluded with Russian operatives to affect the outcome of the 2016 presidential election — this leaves the media with only one other option: removing the president via an election.
The problem, according to the media, is that were Schultz to run as an Independent, he might siphon off votes that would otherwise go to the Democrat nominee. Never mind that Schultz might also siphon off votes from Trump. And never mind that having multiple candidates is supposed to be a good thing.
All the Trump Derangement Syndrome-afflicted media care about is dethroning Trump at all costs, no matter how much actual damage their “fascism light” efforts do to democracy.

It’s no wonder Schultz believes the “system” is broken.
“What he has said is that when he looks out, the system in his view — a view I share — is broken,” Schmidt, the billionaire businessman’s campaign strategist, said to Wallace. “It is shattered. The trust of the American people has been broken, and it’s not just the institutions of government.”
“It’s generally big institutions: whether it’s big media, whether it’s big business. Across the board, we see institutional failure, and it’s that institutional failure that has put us in this position.”
Wallace, who previously worked on the late Sen. John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign alongside Schmidt, didn’t hear a word he said, of course. Instead she asked why Schultz can’t just run as a Democrat Party or perhaps even try to run a primary challenge against Trump.
To her and her peers, everything boils back down to Trump, a man whom she once urged failed 2016 presidential candidate and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush to punch in the face.
Unfortunately, neither she nor her peers in the media are alone. Millions of Americans feel similarly because, according to them, “defeating Trump is an existential imperative for [the] majority of Earth’s inhabitants,” as one patently insane Twitter user put it.
Look:
Although @SteveSchmidtSES might be backing Howard Schultz for principled reasons, @NicolleDWallace is correct on pragmatic basis: defeating Trump is an existential imperative for majority of Earth’s inhabitants! Third party run will only hurt never help. #HowardSchultzDontRun

If Schultz wants to run, we would be better served to hear his positions as a Democratic candidate, not an Independent. We must not allow ANYTHING OR ANYONE to derail our mission to rid our country of the cancer of tRump!

This is not the time for this fight. Our 1st priority is to get that criminal conman out of the oval office and that will not happen when there is a third party democrat running as a independent.

Pick a side. There is no way in hell after living through Trump an Independent will be respected. No matter how you try to spin it reality is he will not win, but he will help Trump

This is the Democrat base, and according to the Democrat base — whose views align perfectly with those of the equally radical left-wing media — not only must private healthcare not exist in America, but neither must Independent political candidates as well.
They’re the ones who sound genuinely fringe, but don’t expect to hear that from the media.
