Footage of shelter workers in Arizona shoving and even dragging migrant children has led to backlash and an investigation pending possible criminal charges.
The disturbing video footage aired by CNN on Sunday focused on the alleged abuse of migrant children in a Southwest Key shelter, sparking outrage and renewed criticism of President Donald Trump for immigration policies which supporters assert are necessary regardless of the ‘bad apples’ in the bunch.
“We should warn our viewers this is absolutely disturbing,” CNN correspondent Nick Valencia said, introducing the video clip from September which allegedly showed staff at the Hacienda Del Sol shelter in Youngtown “pushing, shoving and even dragging these small undocumented migrants.”
The surveillance videos were obtained by the Arizona Republic through an open records request, according to CNN, and apparently showed a staffer shoving and pushing a child before cornering the child against a wall. Another worker was seen dragging another child in a video which, like the first, was blurred and edited by the state’s Department of Health Services.
According to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, the allegations will be reviewed by the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.
“Based upon the evidence gathered during this thorough investigation, MCSO executive command has made the decision to submit the case to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office for its review and determination of criminal charges,” the office said in a statement on Sunday.
“After these incidents were brought to light, two of those staffers were fired. Another was disciplined,” Valencia noted in the CNN report.
The particular shelter, run by the largest provider of migrant shelters for children, was closed in October, according to CNN. State health authorities also considered shutting down other Southwest Key shelters in Arizona as the company could not prove that it conducts background checks on employees.
“[It’s] another dark stain on the story of migrants here in the United States,” Valencia concluded, igniting an expected outcry on social media and knee-jerk condemnation of the Trump administration for somehow being personally responsible for the reprehensible actions of shelter workers.

Trump and his republicans supporters don’t look at the people as even being human. That is why they are treated like cattle which we treat better.

It’s no longer hyperbole to say: This administration has completely embraced Nazism.

But their arguments were quickly doused with the cold water of hard facts as others exposed the truth CNN conveniently left out of its report.
This has nothing to do with this administration. It’s been going on long before that.

Good grief man, there are hundreds of deportation centers all over the country. It’s been this way for about 15 years. If people that work there are doing a bad job then get rid of then. The places are still needed.

What does this have to do with Trump or his supporters?

These homes are set up to accommodate all the people trying to enter our country. They serve a great purpose. If they are being run by bad people then get ride of the bad people. We still have to protect our county.

Build a wall and u will see less abuse as they will have a harder time getting here. Less people..less abuse.

Remember, these shelters are all staffed by bleeding heart leftists. Don’t blame the GOP, look at your own side that is actually doing this.
