A pastor in Chicago is not backing down from his decision to ask a man dressed in drag to leave his church.
After Antonio Rocquemore of Power House International Ministries came under fire for telling a man in a worship service to “go put on man clothes,” he defended his decision and cleared up many false reports in a video.
“Can you leave my church and go put on man clothes? And don’t come here like that no more,” Rocquemore said in a video from the Sunday service that was posted on Facebook by Christian James Lhuillier.
I hold a standard in here. Whatever you do on the outside is your business, but I will not let drag queens come in here,” he said, adding later in the video, “I don’t do no bashin’, because everybody is strugglin’ with something. But what I’m not gonna do is allow you to disrespect the house of God — I can’t do it.”
Lhuillier was angry by the incident and explained his feelings when he posted the video.
“In a place that is supposed to be a place of change a place of deliverance whatever you want to call it why would you destroy someone in a room full of people,” Lhuillier wrote. “This is the kind of bulls— that causes people to go home and commit suicide.”
With over 500,000 views and over 8,600 shares, the controversial video sparked heated debate with people both slamming and defending Rocquemore for his stand.

Good job Pastor… Respect the house of God

Ignorant pagans ‘outraged’ #AntonioRocquemore prefers the godly in God’s house. Gender-bender is by definition in rebellion against God. The pastor cannot condone obvious, blatant disrespect for God’s word in God’s house. He was right to send him packing. https://t.co/GXm9aaPTs8

Rocquemore addressed the controversy in a now-deleted hour-long video on his Facebook page on Monday, according to the Kansas City Star.
He cleared up some of the wrong information being reported and explained that the man was not a “stranger off the street” but a member of the church.
“He is, I repeat, he is not a stranger off the street,” the pastor said in the video. “I heard somebody say he was a visitor and he came in off the street and we lost a soul. See, that’s not accurate information.
“He is a full member of the Powerhouse International Ministries. He’s a member of Powerhouse,” he added. “I think he joined earlier in the year.”
“First of all, anybody that know me … I don’t bash nothing,” Rocquemore said. “The reason why I don’t bash nothing because when you start bashing things then you’re separating them. I don’t separate sin. Sin is sin.”
The pastor and even his mother had spoken to the young man in private about his clothing before, he revealed.
“No one knew this was going on,” he said.
The pastor explained that the man had challenged him publicly and “I challenged him back publicly.”
