All of a sudden, the media doesn’t want anything to do with the formerly popular lawyer who made his name representing anti-Trump porn star Stormy Daniels.
Example A: CNN’s Chris Cillizza was mercilessly mocked for laughably calling for an end to Avenatti coverage.

More seriously and disturbing, it seems NBC was not alone in conveniently sitting on damning information on Michael Avenatti.
Shortly after Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley referred Avenatti and his client Julie Swetnik to the Justice Department for a criminal investigation, NBC released a report on inconsistencies from a witness during the hearings on Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
The woman told NBC News that the potential 2020 presidential candidate had “twisted” her words on Kavanaugh, though NBC decided not to reveal that information during the hearings.
And now, it appears Time magazine also sat on an eyebrow-raising comment by the hotshot attorney.
In an interview just published Thursday, Avenatti seemed to blow his dream of any 2020 Democratic nomination, saying that it had “better be a white male” running against President Donald Trump in 2020.
According to Time:
The Democrats have not been this powerless since the 1920s, and their members have responded by nominating a historic number of women and people of color for office. But when it comes to the party’s presidential nominee in 2020, Avenatti thinks in different terms. “I think it better be a white male,” he says. He hastens to add that he wishes it weren’t so, but it’s undeniable that people listen to white men more than they do others; it’s why he’s been successful representing [Stormy] Daniels and immigrant mothers, he says. “When you have a white male making the arguments, they carry more weight,” he says. “Should they carry more weight? Absolutely not. But do they? Yes.”
Though he later claimed that he had been misquoted and his words taken out of context, the damage was done.
The Daily Caller’s Chuck Ross pointed out that Time had that quote – and chose to keep it under wraps – since June.

“I never said that, that’s complete bulls**t. That’s my comment, complete bullsh**t,” Avenatti responded.
Why Time, like NBC, sat on the lawyer’s comments was certainly the focus of many questions on social media.
So not only does it look like it’s possible that @NBCNews did Avenatti a solid in their attempts to destroy Kavanaugh but it looks like @TIME did too.
