The father of a Parkland school victim slammed Democrats for their gun control plans if they take back the House in the November elections.
Andrew Pollack, the father of 18-year-old Meadow who was killed in the February massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida, minced no words, telling Democrats they could “go to hell” for failing his daughter and the other victims.
Pollack was reacting to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s visit with Parkland students and parents in South Florida earlier this week, as she called the anti-gun activists a “blessing to our country,” and promised the issue of gun control would be top on Democrats’ agenda if they regain control of the House.
“I admire you so much,” she said, speaking at the event alongside Democratic U.S. Rep. Ted Deutch and members of the national gun-control group Moms Demand Action, the Sun Sentinel reported.
“You have the purpose, the generosity of spirit. You have the marchers — you have people who will go out there to make a difference — and you just have a relentless, persistent, dissatisfied approach,” she said.
Pollack wasn’t buying what Pelosi was selling and blasted the Democrat leader and her party on Twitter.

Democrat policies, a Democrat sheriff, superintendent, school board, and teacher’s union ignored signs that shooter Nikolas Cruz was a potential danger to students, according to Pollack.
While Pelosi indicated she personally supported an assault-weapon ban, she felt “what saves the most lives is the background checks — keeping guns out of the hands of people who should not have them, whatever the weaponry.”
Pollack fired back on Twitter, demanding that Pelosi “should look at what allowed my daughter’s killer to “PASS his” background check.

He founded Americans for Children’s Lives and School Safety whose “mission is to design, implement and support programs that foster children’s safety, security and well-being.”
Fred Guttenberg’s daughter was also killed at Parkland and he was at the event with Pelosi. He tweeted a response to Pollack’s remarks, telling the father “that is not what she said.”

Universal background checks are supported by a majority of Americans, according to a Quinnipiac University survey earlier this year showing 97 percent in favor of legislation being implemented.
A new Gallup poll released on Wednesday revealed that support for new control laws has dropped slightly in the last few months.
According to the Washington Free Beacon:
The Gallup poll of 1,019 adults, conducted between Oct. 1 and 10, found 61 percent of respondents support making gun laws stricter. That’s down 6 points from when Gallup asked the same question between March 1 and 8. At the same time support for the idea that gun laws should be kept the same increased from 28 percent to 30 percent and support for the idea they should be made less strict doubled from 4 percent to 8 percent.
While some on Twitter disagreed with Pollack on the issue, many supported his remarks and called out the failures that led to the tragic shooting.
