March For Our Lives releases ad that compares voting to sex. Anti-gun message not good enough?

The student-led gun control group March For Our Lives released an advertisement Tuesday comparing the act of voting to sexual intercourse in an effort to stir up enthusiasm for the upcoming midterm elections.

First released on YouTube, the advertisement features a number of celebrities and former students from Stoneman Douglas High School, the location where a mass shooting in February killed 17 children and staff members.

Throughout the video, both teenagers and Hollywood actors talk about their “first time,” alluding to when they lost their virginity. In reality, the individuals in the ad are talking about their first time at the ballot box.

“My first time, everybody clapped afterwards,” David Hogg says.

“My first time with a woman was 2016,” actor Chris Evans jokes.

At the conclusion of the video, a URL appears for MarchForOurLives.com, which features a page helping citizens register to vote.

Since the February shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School, a number of students and alumni from the school have turned into activists calling for strict gun control across the country.

In March, the organization helped lead a protest calling for more regulations of firearms in Washington, D.C., and across the United States.
