Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh brought a group of current and former basketball players he used to coach to Thursday’s hearing, including his two daughters.
After a 15-minute break from Thursday’s hearing, a group of a dozen girls, who Kavanaugh had coached at some point of their lives, walked into the Senate Judiciary Committee and sat down in the front row. They were greeted by many Senators who were walking back into the room after the break.
Kavanaugh was given a chance to introduce the girls, naming them all and telling the committee that he had the honor and pleasure of coaching them at some point of their lives.
“It’s awesome to have them all here,” Kavanaugh said, introducing them. “They are tough as nails,” he continued.
Kavanaugh has two daughters, Liza, 10, and Margaret, 13, who appeared at his nomination ceremony with President Donald Trump at the White House on July 9. The two also came to their father’s first hearing in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday, but were reportedly rushed out after constant disruptions from protesters.
