The woman who got national attention for climbing the Statue of Liberty last month is seeking attention again by trolling first lady Melania Trump on her way to court.
Therese Patricia Okoumou, an African immigrant from the Democratic Republic of Congo who was arrested for scaling the base of the Statue of Liberty in New York on the Fourth of July, took a jab at Trump on her way to her court hearing on Friday.

The 44-year-old, who was arrested in 2017 for assaulting a police officer, wore a dress with “I really care why won’t u? Be best” printed on the back, a reference to a jacket worn by the first lady.

The “Be Best” phrase referred to Melania Trump’s initiative launched in May promoting children and fighting against cyberbullying.
On the way to a child detention center at the southern border in June, Trump was seen sporting a $39 jacket from popular European brand, Zara, that read, “I really don’t care, do u?” on the back. The jacket caused a stir as many critics claimed she was sending an anti-immigrant message.
Funny, how the media FINALLY focused on Melania’s fashion. POTUS smacks MSM upside the head with it https://t.co/5hE6dfkjC5 pic.twitter.com/AA6pFQGZEL

Her husband, President Trump, responded to the controversy by tweeting: “I REALLY DON’T CARE, DO U?” written on the back of Melania’s jacket refers to the Fake News Media. Melania has learned how dishonest they are, and she truly no longer cares!”
Stephanie Grisham, spokeswoman for the first lady, also slammed the media’s focus on Trump’s wardrobe, adding “#ItsJustAJacket” to her tweet.
Today’s visit w the children in Texas impacted @flotus greatly. If media would spend their time & energy on her actions & efforts to help kids – rather than speculate & focus on her wardrobe – we could get so much accomplished on behalf of children. #SheCares #ItsJustAJacket

Okoumou’s stunt on July 4, to protest the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency and the separation of immigrant parents from their children at the border, led to the evacuation of 4,500 tourists from Liberty Island as a team of police officers shut down the monument and risked their lives to bring her down safely.

The anti-Trump group, Rise and Resist, of which Okoumou is a member, held an “Abolish ICE” banner at the foot of the 89-foot-tall statue before her climb.
The Staten Island resident pleaded not guilty to the charges of trespassing, interference with agency functions and disorderly conduct and faces a sentence of up to 1½ years if convicted, according to Courthouse News.
Okoumou broke into a profane chant following her second federal court appearance on Friday in a hearing before Chief U.S. District Judge Gabriel Gorenstein.
“America, you motherf***ers, you drug addicts, you KKK, you fascist U.S.A.,” she yelled, surrounded by members of Rise and Resist.
