Hannity and Watters tag-team lib contributor saying Obama was better for economy: ‘I’m not calling you stupid, but’

Declaring that former President Obama was better for the economy than President Donald Trump was enough to earn a Fox News contributor a heaping dose of mockery from hosts Sean Hannity and Jesse Watters.

Hannity kicked off the segment on his show Tuesday contrasting the economic picture under the Obama and the Trump administrations.

“Obama, 13 million more Americans food stamps, 8 million more in poverty, lowest labor participation rates since the 70s, worst recovery since the 40s, lowest home ownership rate in 51 years, accumulated more debt than every other president before him combined,” Hannity said.

“Trump, 4 million new jobs created, the best labor participation rate that we’ve ever had. Record low unemployment,” he continued, touting “the single greatest economy that we have had in ten years.”

“Tell me, what’s wrong with that, why would you want to go back to your friend Obama’s record and agenda?” Hannity asked Fox News contributor, Jessica Tarlov.

“Because he did better,” she replied, causing  an impassioned “oh God!” from Watters.

“President Obama added over 11 million jobs. He got the unemployment rate down from 7.8% to 4.8%. There are 15 million Americans who are insured now because of President Obama,” Tarlov argued. “It is true. Don’t shake your head, I didn’t shake my head at you.”

“I’m not calling you stupid, but ‘it’s the economy, stupid,’” Watters interjected, as the two erupted into a debate over the numbers.

“You guys are running on socialism, open borders and impeachment. The face of your party is Maxine Waters,” Watters said.

“No it’s not!” Tarlov responded, as Watters continued, adding that House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is “the most unpopular politician in America.”

“And then you have Trump, at 48 percent,” he said, referring to poll numbers from Rasmussen which Tarlov took exception to.

A Wall Street Journal and NBC poll showing Trump’s job approval rose to 45 percent, the highest mark of his presidency, stunned an MSNBC panel last month who marveled at how Trump “defies political gravity.”

Tarlov continued to defend Obama’s economic record on “Hannity” while dismissing the significance of Trump’s as she argued back against Hannity and Watters.

“We’ll see how this president does,” she said, mocking Trump’s claim that economy could grow at eight or nine percent, and calling it “utterly ridiculous.”
