An 85-year-old Indiana woman sought some heavenly help on a quilting project and is now looking for a way to get her gift to President Donald Trump.
Betty Alexander from South Bend recently finished a large American flag quilt and said she had some spiritual direction on who to give it to.
“When I was thinking ‘who’s this quilt going to be for,’ the Holy Spirit just told me it should be for President Trump,” she told the South Bend Tribune.
“But he won’t use it for his bed,” she said. “It’s just for show.”
Alexander has been quilting for several years and has created quilts for all her children and grandchildren.
“I just watched my mother do it,” she said.
She began working on the patriotic quilt, which is sized for a queen bed, after she fell and broke her hip about 4 months ago, the Tribune reported. The recovery plan was just not her cup of tea, however.
“I’m a busy lady,” she said. “I’m not going to sit around and think about things all day. What I can do, I’m going to do.”
And she does plenty.
Alexander goes to the gym three times a week and went to Bible school at the young age of 69.
She is ready to bestow her gift on the president but admitted she didn’t know how to get it to him.
“I haven’t made a dime on any of the ones I’ve made. I just want to make sure he sees it,” she said.
“I love Donald Trump,” she said. “I believe his mom probably made quilts.”
