Tucker Carlson slammed an immigration attorney after a contentious debate that culminated in the Fox News host declared he was “sitting here illegally” and could be “taken out by force.”
Cesar Vargas, an undocumented immigrant from Mexico who recently earned his green card, argued on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Monday that the right to vote should include anyone who lives in America.

“I think it goes to the concept of citizenship. As a nation, we have matured from only free, land-owner, white people — to now women and African Americans,” the New York lawyer said.
“Don’t hit me with the race crap,” Carlson responded. “As a citizen of a country controlled by conquistadors, don’t lecture me about this stuff.”
“I believe that we should open the franchise, the right to vote, to everyone,” Vargas declared, prompting Carlson to burst into laughter.
“I must say, I don’t know what ‘chutzpah’ is in Spanish, but for you sitting here illegally and we’re not reporting you or having you, like, taken out by force,” he said. “You’re telling me that the essence of our country is not the Constitution, it’s letting illegals vote?”
“It’s about us truly embracing that everyone can be an American,” Vargas argued.
When he informed Carlson that he now has a green card, the Fox News host said “mazel tov.”
“So you are telling me that the essence of our country is not our constitution that is letting illegals vote?” Carlson asked.
“It’s about us truly embracing that everyone can be an American,” Vargas said.
“So no matter where you’re from, you have a right to come here, vote in our elections, get free stuff,” Carlson repeated the argument Vargas was making. “So we built this awesome country and now everyone from around the world just gets to take whatever they want?”
“We all are Americans,” Vargas contended.
“No you’re not actually, you’re a Mexican,” Carlson replied. “Citizen, I believe.”
