Fox Business show “Varney & Company” host Stuart Varney said it’s “outrageous” for illegal immigrants to expect monetary compensation from the federal government for being mistreated after breaking the law.

Varney was reacting to a proposal from Democratic Rep. Joe Crowley of New York to provide reunited illegal immigrant families with taxpayer-funded financial packages.
“It makes absolutely no sense to me at all. If I break into your house, sit around your living room and demand compensation because you didn’t treat me very nicely, that is outrageous,” Varney said on “Fox & Friends” Thursday. “There’s a somewhat analogous situation here. People come into the country, their families are separated, then they demand or Joe Crowley wants compensation for them because they have been badly treated. Just doesn’t rub me up the right way quite frankly.”
Varney asked what the illegal immigrants are doing in America to begin with and placed the blame for the suffering of their children on the parents who brought them to the border.
“What are they doing here in the first place? Why did you come to the border with your children in the first place? You know it was illegal and now you want us, taxpayers, to compensate them for the difficulty that they’ve had,” Varney concluded. “I’m not buying that.”
