Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade wondered if former Trump attorney Michael Cohen’s newly released audiotapes are “just the beginning” of payback for Hillary Clinton losing the election.
The hosts of “Fox & Friends” ripped Cohen over the private audio recording he secretly recorded while speaking with Trump and then made public, questioning the betrayal of the attorney-client relationship.
After airing a clip of attorney and Harvard aw professor Alan Dershowitz saying that there is nothing “illegal” on the tape, Brian Kilmeade slammed Cohen’s own attorney, Lanny Davis, a Democratic lobbyist and longtime friend of Bill and Hillary Clinton.
“And Lanny Davis is best friends with Hillary Clinton, probably took the loss harder than anyone else, is just relishing in the fact that he can take some type of shot at the President.,” Kilmeade said.
“Not that he’s not a fine lawyer, very experienced, but he’s making Michael Cohen seem to be Mother Teresa,” he added. “And it is, just the beginning of, I guess, Lanny Davis’ attempt to pay back Hillary Clinton or try to pay back Donald Trump for beating Hillary Clinton.”
Kilmeade and his co-hosts were baffled about why Cohen was taping Trump at all, appalled at the betrayal of friendship.

The president himself reacted to the release of the audiotapes, wondering “is this a first” and slamming his former attorney.
What kind of a lawyer would tape a client? So sad! Is this a first, never heard of it before? Why was the tape so abruptly terminated (cut) while I was presumably saying positive things? I hear there are other clients and many reporters that are taped – can this be so? Too bad!

Trump’s attorney, Rudy Giuliani, also had harsh words for Cohen and the questionable legal strategy but wasn’t as concerned about Davis as Kilmeade was.
“I don’t have any concerns about that. [Lanny] is a lawyer and he has the right to represent who he wants,” Giuliani told Fox News host Laura Ingraham.
“I question the strategy of doing this, of trying to make a tape say what it doesn’t say. Or of putting out a tape in which you’re a lawyer taping a client and then thinking you could cooperate with the government,” he said.
