Former Secretary of State John Kerry berated President Donald Trump on CBS’ Face the Nation.
“It’s so personal. So unbecoming of a president of the United States to engage in that … it shows fear or something, I don’t know. Why is he picking that at this point in time when he has major issues he needs to deal with?” Kerry said, according to Fox News.
Trump called former Vice President Joe Biden a “dream opponent” for the 2020 election, criticizing him for “never getting more than one percent,” and saying that former President Barack Obama “took him out of the garbage heap” when he had him join the presidential ticket back in 2008, according to CBS News.
This sparked Kerry’s response.
“What he does is, he’s always looking for the diversion, always moving away from the real business of our country because he doesn’t know how to do the real business of our country,” Kerry said, according to Fox News.
Kerry also said on Face the Nation July 19 that Trump’s meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki was “dangerous.”
