Juan Williams takes a beating in heated ‘The Five’ segment, accuses Hannity of ‘running the presidency’

Is putting uber-leftist Juan Williams in a room with uber-conservative Sean Hannity a good idea? If you like explosive political banter the answer is a resounding … yes.

Conservative Fox News host Sean Hannity filled in for Greg Gutfeld on FNC’s The Five on Monday and it sent liberal co-host Williams over edge.

The tension was palpable as the show hosts discussed President Trump’s upcoming Supreme Court nominee contenders.  Trump would later announce his pick for Judge Brett Kavanaugh, but it wouldn’t have mattered to Williams (or any liberal) as any pick by Trump is to be lambasted and ridiculed.

“Juan, are you having nightmares over these potential picks?” Jesse Waters asked.

Williams accused the panel of his own show of sounding like an “echo chamber” as he dismissed any potential pick for being vetted by reputable institutions like the Heritage Foundation and the Federalist Society.

“This is what Blumenthal was talking about. Fringe candidates,” Williams said.

Hannity backed the candidates stating that they’ve “immersed themselves in constitutional thoughts and writings and in particular cases they work on.”

Williams predicted pro-choice Republicans will be under “tremendous pressure” to reject any of the candidates.

That assertion sent Hannity off.

“Where is the evidence? Hannity shot back. “You say these things and you are trying to scare the American people.”

“I am not scaring anybody,” Williams responded. “I’m just giving the facts.”

As it turned out, that was just the warm up for the fireworks to come.

The debate really got rolling when co-host Kimberly Guilfoyle floated rumors that Hillary Clinton is planning a “rematch” against Trump in 2020.

“Speculation is whirling that she is planning her comeback and a rematch against President Trump. An op-ed in “The New York post” describes how Clinton is running a political and fund-raising apparatus to oppose and resist President Trump that could be unleashed before the next presidential election,” Guilfoyle said. “Do you think it’s legitimate?”

Hannity was quick to respond by giving Hillary is full support to run again in 2020.

“I endorse Hillary running again. I think Nancy Pelosi should be the minority leader for as long as she wants. I think some people are being very mean to her and I would like Maxine waters to be second in charge.”

Hannity went on to call out the “unhinged” left and their attacks on the Trump family, including his young son Barron and grandchildren. He also accused Democrats of wanting open borders and to keep Obamacare.

“What are you talking about?” Williams shot back. The only people who want open borders are you so you can say —”

Hannity interrupted Williams to remind him about “the wall” Trump and his supporter have been trying to get built to secure the borders.

When the Guilfoyle and Waters chimed in to let Williams know how ridiculous he sounded, he lost it.

“Let me tell you something. You have a Sean Hannity agenda. I think you’re running this presidency,” Williams said.

“I am so ridiculous,” Williams sarcastically responded after being called silly. “How could I say such a thing?”

Hannity then accused Williams of parroting CNN’s “lies.”

“I’m just responding to you … A majority of Americans don’t believe in separating children from their parents.”

“Donald Trump stopped it.” Hannity said.
