Reimagine SCOTUS? Tucker guest reveals libs want to change rules and ‘pack the court’ when they take back power

Not only do we need to abolish ICE according to unhinged liberals, but the Supreme Court as we know it needs to go, too.

Liberals lost their collective hive-mind over Justice Kennedy’s retirement and have been floating wild antidotes to the rule of law ever since. Fox News Channel’s Tucker Carlson invited Harvard “lecturer” Ian Samuel on Tucker Carlson Tonight to discuss his call to expand SCOTUS and pack it with liberal judges.

Democrat’s worst nightmare came true last week when Supreme Court Justice Kennedy announced his retirement, giving President Trump his second opportunity to fill a SCOTUS vacancy with a conservative judge.

Tucker introduced the lecturer by highlighting a tweet he had fired off in the wake of Kennedy’s announcement.

“Wouldn’t it just be easier to give California, 27 new congressional districts?” Tucker began. “And be done with it? Or maybe just abolish Congress entirely? If the goal is to increase the power of the left, why mess around with the Supreme Court?”

As so many leftists are prone to do, Samuel talked out of both sides of this mouth to make his argument.

“The thing is, I think we very much agree on the basic end. The Supreme Court should not be a partisan institution subject to ideological swings. The problem is the Supreme Court, the justices, 14 out of the last 18 have been appointed by Republican presidents. They had 11 in a row before Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Surprising, almost remarkable. We are left in this position now, where the partisan balance is way out of whack with what people have voted for,” Samuel replied.

The liberal lecturer went on to try to sound like some sort of moderate.

“What I’m in favor of, it is returning it to being a nonpartisan institution that is set away from the fray of ideological politics.” Samuel went on to argue that we can’t achieve a balanced SCOTUS until we “add some seats to correct the balance that we’ve lost.”

Samuel’s attempt to sound like a reasonable moderate evoked a hearty laugh from Tucker who called the young lecturer “smooth.” And as for that tweet the young liberal fired off? Tucker was quick to remind him.

“You tweeted, pack the court,” Tucker shot back.  “That should be up there with abolish ice. That is a nonpartisan statement, somehow? How does that work? How does increasing that on the court, indeed nonpartisan?”

Samuel, then went on a childish tirade about wanting find middle ground and suggested instead of expanding SCOTUS, maybe we just pull a Justice instead … you know, to make it even-Steven.

“Look, I would love a settlement once this is all done. I would love to get to a place, maybe every president gets two, maybe three guaranteed nominations. Maybe we should have an even number? That that would nice,” Samuel said before evoking the man he loves to hate.

“That is the art of the deal,” Samuel desperately chimed. “The reality is, we are way out of whack. If we are to have any hope of moving forward, but doesn’t have this ideological sway.”

“Right,” Tucker shot back. “So in other words, increase the power of the left and everything will be cool.”

Tucker added that public opinion polling coincides with recent rulings of right-leaning judges and sent the young liberal’s eyeballs rolling.

After a hardy debate about Republicans and Democrats playing partisan games with the Supreme Court, Tucker pressed the young Democrat to admit that he’s not trying to encourage his Party from doing the same.

Samuel tried to stick to his “non-partisan” guns just before signing off and blurting, “Socialism will win, thanks for having me!”

A seemingly stunned Tucker replied back, “Thanks for revealing yourself.”
