President Trump’s potential picks for Supreme Court Justice are being attacked by liberals, who claim they’re terrified that Roe v. Wade might be overturned (unlikely), so they’re openly mocking federal judge Amy Coney Barrett’s religious beliefs.
Coney Barrett is a devout Catholic and mom of seven, including two adopted children from Haiti and one adopted child with special needs. The mainstream media claim she’s part of a religious “cult” because she belongs to a Christian group called People of Praise.
People of Praise describes itself on its website: “A majority of People of Praise members are Catholic, and yet the People of Praise is not a Catholic group. Our membership includes not only Catholics but Lutherans, Anglicans, Methodists, Pentecostals and nondenominational Christians.”
The group added: “For many years, we referred to our female leaders as handmaids, following the use of the term by Mary, Jesus’s mother, who calls herself ‘the handmaid of the Lord,’ as reported in the Bible (Lk. 1:38). Recognizing that the meaning of this term has shifted dramatically in our culture in recent years, we no longer use the term handmaid to describe those women who are leaders in the People of Praise.”
Radio host Rush Limbaugh said the malicious attacks on Judge Amy Coney Barrett are nothing more than veiled attacks on Christianity masquerading as faux concern over abortion rights.
Limbaugh explained: “[What the left is really saying by trashing Barrett] is, ‘There’s a bunch of Christians, and we’ve been working really hard to take this country away from you, and you’re gonna stop us from taking the country away from you.'”
“Judge Barrett is being attacked for Christianity. It’s open season on Christians in America. The attacks are…thinly disguised as concern about Roe v. Wade and access to contraception. In other words, the same old stuff the Democrats trot out against every Republican judicial nominee.”

Coney Barrett was famously slammed by Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein in 2017 during her confirmation hearing as a federal judge, when Feinstein said: “The [Christian] dogma lives loudly within you.”
At the time, Judge Barrett responded by saying her priority was not overturning Roe v. Wade because she respects Supreme Court precedent. Roe v. Wade has been around for 45 years.
Every time a Republican president nominates a federal or Supreme Court judge, leftists immediately start foaming at the mouth over Roe. It’s a transparent political ploy to incite the liberal base.
On his radio show, Limbaugh said if Coney Barrett were a liberal, the left would be exulting her as an icon. In addition to being a federal judge with excellent professional credentials, she’s a devoted mom of seven.
“You’d think the feminists would be cheering this woman, but you’d be wrong,” Limbaugh said. “We actually don’t expect the feminists to be cheering this woman because feminism itself is a lie. If feminism were true, Amy Barrett would be at the top of their list and they would be supporting her.”
Limbaugh added: “But [today’s] feminism is just liberalism. It’s not about women being all they can be. It’s about liberalism. And now communism and Marxism.”
Meanwhile, liberals gleefully support Islam, which many argue is more misogynistic and more like a “cult” than any other religion.
