Liberal tears flowed at the Democratic National Committee when the bombshell news dropped that U.S. Supreme Justice Anthony Kennedy is retiring.
The DNC was on a phone call with committee members and the media when the news broke. An audio clip tweeted by Politico reporter David Siders captured the despondent moans and anguished cries: “Oh my God!” several unnamed people simultaneously uttered. Listen below:
Former DNC chairwoman Donna Brazile was heard on the call announcing the news. As a refresher of how crooked the DNC is, in July 2016, Brazile was ousted as chair amid revelations that the DNC rigged their primary elections to ensure that Brazile’s longtime comrade Hillary Clinton would win.
On Wednesday’s DNC phone call, liberal media and crestfallen DNC members are heard despondently moaning while trying to come to terms with Justice Kennedy’s retirement. One unidentified person says, “This is not good news.”
Another chimed in, “Not that he’s done us any good on these recent decisions, but he [Kennedy] was the one that was usually persuadable.”
Justice Anthony Kennedy was appointed to the Supreme Court in 1998 by Ronald Reagan. While he’s conservative, he sometimes sided with the liberals on the bench and was a key swing vote on several major cases.
With Kennedy’s retirement, President Trump will now be able to appoint another conservative SCOTUS justice who will shape judicial rulings for the few decades.
In 2017, Trump appointed Neil Gorsuch, a highly-respected federal judge with impeccable credentials and a history of reliably conservative rulings. Gorsuch is only 50 years old, so he could be on the SCOTUS bench for another 30-plus years.
The two oldest Supreme Court justices are liberal, so President Trump may likely be able to appoint at least one more jurist to the bench during his first term.
U.S. Supreme Court Justices by age:
- Ruth Bader Ginsburg (liberal): 85
- Stephen Breyer (liberal): 79
- Clarence Thomas (conservative): 70
- Samuel Alito (conservative): 68
- Sonia Sotomayor (liberal): 64
- Chief Justice John Roberts (conservative): 63
- Elena Kagan (liberal): 58
- Neil Gorsuch (conservative): 50
- ??? (Trump appointee): Young.
Meanwhile, Twitter reacted with its usual snarky hilarity.
Bar Stool quipped: “Live look at Ruth Bader Ginsburg.”

CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin tried to foment faux outrage by saying abortion will now be illegal after President Trump reshapes the SCOTUS bench.
Earth to Toobin: That is ridiculous and highly unlikely. There’s almost zero chance that Roe v. Wade will be overturned, so cool your heels, Jeffrey.
Anthony Kennedy is retiring. Abortion will be illegal in twenty states in 18 months. #SCOTUS

Journalist Mark Hemingway shut down Toobin’s outrage-mongering with an epic smackdown, dragging Toobin’s ugly personal life:
“To recap: A journalist who cheated on his wife, knocked-up a colleague’s daughter, wanted her to get an abortion, and had to be dragged into court to pay child support is on CNN right now opining about the consequences of overturning Roe v. Wade. Maybe sit this one out?”

Reminder to liberals: Democrat Harry Reid paved the way for the “Nuclear Option,” which allows the U.S. Senate to confirm President Trump’s SCOTUS nominee by a simple majority of 51 votes — which Republicans already have.
Thanks to all of you who encouraged me to consider filibuster reform. It had to be done.
— Senator Harry Reid (@SenatorReid) November 21, 2013
In 2013, Republican Senator Mitch McConnell warned Democrat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Senate Democrats that they will come to regret invoking the nuclear option.
“You’ll regret this, and you may regret this a lot sooner than you think,” McConnell predicted.
In 2013, the Democrat-majority Senate invoked the “nuclear option” to ensure that most of then-president Barack Obama’s judicial and executive branch nominees no longer needed to get 60 votes in order to be confirmed. Thanks Obama!

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s quiet gloating and I-Told-You-So face after Justice Kennedy announced his retirement was priceless.

Dana Loesch reminded liberals of the long history of the nuclear option, dating back to Democrat Joe Biden’s years as a senator.
They know better than this but they’re counting on you not knowing.
1) It’s the Biden rule
2) It’s not a presidential election cycle
3) Kagan was confirmed in August 2010 during a midterm year. https://t.co/3xEikgBKNR— Dana Loesch (@DLoesch) June 27, 2018
WATCH: Majority Leader McConnell on US Supreme Court vacancy:
"This is not 2016. There aren’t the final months of a second-term, constitutionally lame-duck presidency with a presidential election fast approaching. We're right in the middle of this president’s very first term." pic.twitter.com/U4vagXvQa2

A timeless flashback.
How do you rig an election from top to bottom, and still not win? @HillaryClinton is a special kind of loser.
Possibly the greatest loser of our time. #SPYGATE— Candace Owens (@RealCandaceO) May 24, 2018
