A National Park superintendent allegedly told a female employee to look at penis graffiti because “she would like it.”
This wasn’t the only human resources violation from James Milestone, Superintendent of California’s Whiskeytown National Recreation Area, according to a Monday report from the Department of the Interior.
Milestone also told a female employee going through a divorce not to become “one of those old maids that never have children,” according to the report.
The superintendent allegedly made several inappropriate statements about women’s appearances, including a “derogatory remark about a female employee’s haircut” and “condescending references regarding female employees’ uniform appearance.”
Milestone either denied these incidents or claimed he did not remember them happening.
Milestone was reassigned from his position as superintendent in March to do work on the outer boundaries of the park. The National Park Service was sent the report detailing his conduct.
