‘Amazing!’ Mitch McConnell plays hardball with ‘obstructionist’ Dems, cancels August recess

Sen Mitch McConnell made a surprise announcement Tuesday afternoon – Senators will actually have to work through summer.

Republicans were happy to hear that McConnell canceled much of the annual August recess U.S. senators have become accustomed to in order to work on passing legislation ahead of the 2018 midterms. McConnell released a statement stating he made the move in the face of Democrat obstruction and wanted to focus on appropriations bills and the President Trump’s nominees:

The responses varied from sarcasm, to elation, to frustration, depending on where you fall on the political spectrum:

You got to love when the party that sides with MS-13 and weaponizes the U.S. Gov’t against its own people talks “scruples.”

Unsurprisingly, NPR ran with the lede that the GOP was going to spend their time on ‘spending bills.’

That’s part of it to be certain, but fighting for Trump’s nominees (and whatever else he may have up his sleeve) is exciting for many conservatives.

But then again…

Good point, Judge Jeanine.
