Hillary Clinton reportedly lied when she claimed during her 2016 presidential campaign that she had supported former president Barack Obama’s decision to order the Navy SEAL raid that would kill Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.
That lie enraged former vice president Joe Biden, according to the new book “First in Line: Presidents, Vice Presidents, and the Pursuit of Power.” “The *ss-covering, opportunistic version really rattled him,” an anonymous aide said in the book, an excerpt of which was published in The Hill.
Biden has publicly admitted that he initially opposed the 2011 strike because he wasn’t certain bin Laden was in the compound. Then-secretary of state Hillary Clinton was also against the raid, according to numerous sources.
“My sense is that [Clinton] was not sold on the idea either,” former Obama senior adviser David Axelrod says in the book “First in Line.”
While Biden was honest when he confessed his reluctance to order the raid on bin Laden, Hillary bragged that she had recommended the strike while running for president.
“I was one of those who recommended the president launch what was a very risky raid,” Clinton boasted during a campaign rally in January 2016. “It was one of the most tense days of my life sitting there…Because of the incredibly careful planning, we didn’t leave anybody behind.”

Hillary’s propensity to shade the truth isn’t a surprise to most Americans, and even to her allies and friends.
It’s unclear why Joe Biden’s angry reaction to Clinton’s lie is being spotlighted now, but the new book claims Biden wants to run for president again. “Biden clearly wants to leave the door open for a 2020 run,” the book states.
Meanwhile, it definitely looks like Hillary will not run again following her disastrous 2016 campaign and epic defeat, from which there’s no coming back.
In another new book, this time by former Obama adviser Ben Rhodes, Obama aides recounted the message they used to defeat Hillary during the 2008 primary race: “She’s part of a corrupt establishment that can’t be trusted to bring change.” That’s the same timeless message President Trump used to defeat Hillary in 2016.
Since Joe Biden is reportedly planning to run for president again in 2020, here’s a walk down memory lane of Joe’s greatest hits as vice president.
