President Trump unexpectedly announced he will be offering a full pardon to conservative author Dinesh D’Souza.
“Will be giving a Full Pardon to Dinesh Trump’s tweet came as he left Joint Base Andrews en route to events in Texas. today,” Trump said on Twitter on Thursday. “He was treated very unfairly by our government!”

The author, speaker, and filmmaker pleaded guilty to making an illegal campaign contribution to New York Republican Senate candidate Wendy Long in 2012. D’Souza was convicted in 2014 and sentenced to five years of probation.
The 57-year-old’s sentence included eight months living under supervision in a “community confinement center” and a $30,000 fine, according to The Washington Post.

D’Souza claimed last year that he was targeted for “political” reasons by the administration of former President Obama after the release of his film “2016: Obama’s America.”
Trump tweeted his remarks as he left Joint Base Andrews on his way to Texas where he is set to meet with families of the victims of the Sante Fe high school shooting earlier this month.
Texas Sen. Ted Cruz applauded the decision by Trump to pardon D’Souza.
Bravo! @realDonaldTrump Dinesh was the subject of a political prosecution, brazenly targeted by the Obama administration bc of his political views. And he’s a powerful voice for freedom, systematically dismantling the lies of the Left—which is why they hate him. This is Justice. https://t.co/cGHzcgwSnK

“This is Justice” the Texas Republican said.
As to be expected, liberals and media elites are having a collective tantrum:
Dinesh D’Souza literally donated thousands of dollars under other people's names to a politician, breaking campaign finance laws.
Trump's pardon opens the door for others to do the same.
Trump undermines the sanctity of our elections while claiming Mueller is Meddling in them.

The pardon of Dinesh D'Souza by Trump is meant to send a message to Michael Cohen not to flip on him.
Unfortunately for Trump, Cohen appears to have broken many NY State laws, and will most likely be charged with State crimes, which are NOT pardonable by the President!

What?

Dinesh D'Souza proves what dad always taught us – "Don't grow up to be a lying, bigoted, crypto-fascist criminal because if you do a lying, bigoted, crypto-fascist criminal might pardon you as a signal to his already indicted henchmen."

He couldn't send a clearer signal to everyone of his associates that he will use the pardon power to reward loyalty to him. https://t.co/YIA683fzKi

Of course, there’s two sides to this argument, and Ted Cruz wasn’t the only one applauding Trump’s move:
.@realDonaldTrump's pardon of @DineshDSouza corrects another abuse of power by the Obama gang. https://t.co/BWLoQH75GR

It’s going to be a long day for libs.
