Katie Pavlich locked horns with a former Clinton communications director as she asserted that Hillary Clinton “gave” money to Russians during the 2016 presidential election.
The Fox News contributor declared on Monday that the Russia investigation has “exposed the other side” as attacks on President Trump appear to have backfired.
The Clinton campaign paid “a foreign spy, British spy, who was working with Russians to create a dossier with salacious information about President Trump,” Pavlich said on Fox News on Monday, referring to the infamous dossier compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele.
“We have seen the result of all of this boomerang on the other side, on the Clinton campaign, which was more directly connected to the Russians than we’ve seen any evidence of with the Trump campaign,” the journalist said.
Former Clinton communications director Adrienne Elrod, a co-panelist during the segment, reacted with laughter.
“They gave them money,” Pavlich reiterated.
“I don’t even know where to start here,” Elrod said. “The Clinton campaign did not have any collusion with Russia, let’s just put that forward.”
“They paid someone working with Russians money for opposition research on Donald Trump,” Pavlich countered.
“It was a dossier, it was opposition research. It was a very standard part of the campaign,” Elrod argued.
“And money went to the Russians,” Pavlich concluded. “Sounds like collusion to me.”
Fox News host Heather Childers brought the heated exchange to a close as she noted how long special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russians has gone on.
