‘Obama, btw, can still be impeached’: Impeachment may be imminent, but not for who Dems think

Joe Scarborough had fellow liberals on his show to predict big things for President Trump – none of them good.

Scarborough ramped up the hyperbole when he predicted Trump’s demand of an investigation into improper surveillance by the intel community was “Nixon” – “we appear to be on the eve of where Nixon was before he launched the Saturday Night Massacre.”

Former editor of Newsweek Jon Meacham was there to pick up where Scarborough left off and expanded on the impeachment narrative.

“I think we are. I think that’s right. I don’t think that’s hyperbolic,” Meacham, who is also noted “Presidential historian”  said before making an odd comparison of Trump and Nixon.

“One Nixonian element here that hasn’t gotten a whole lot of attention, at least explicitly, is both Nixon and Trump have an ongoing obsession with their former opponents in a way that I think shapes what they do in deleterious ways to say the least,” Meacham said. “Nixon was always thinking about — one of the reasons he justified the taping is FDR had done it, LBJ had done it. He was always obsessed with what President Kennedy had gotten away with, in his view. And of course, it’s clearly true with President Trump with an obsession with both Obama and Secretary Clinton.”

Then Meacham called the upcoming midterm elections the most important political story of the moment and predicted Trump’s impeachment is on the horizon.

“I’ve been skeptical of this but I would now bet a good bit of money this will end up in the House with some kind of impeachment proceeding, and the makeup of that body and then ultimately the reaction of the United States Senate, which is supposed to be the great deliberative check and the great final hammer on these things.  I think we’re going to end up — that’s going to be the season finale of this.”

It was an odd prediction given the Democrats have been giving their marching orders to cool it with the impeachment talk. But also, because impeachment has been brought up recently, but not for Trump.

Judicial Watch’s Tom Fitton piggybacked Trump’s tweet with a significant reminder: It’s not too late to impeach Obama.

What good would impeaching Obama do? Conservative correspondent Jack Posobiec says it’s imperative we keep the former President from occupying any future federal role if he was part of a spying scheme against a political opponent.

The idea sparked a lot of excitement with many conservatives and patriots.

It’s not certain if President Trump saw the impeach Obama tweets, but curiously enough, he did raise his name on Monday morning:

“Good question” indeed.
