The White House is vowing to take its ongoing problem with leaks head-on.
In an interview with Fox News Channel’s Martha MacCallum, Kellyanne Conway said that those who work in the White House are expected to be “loyal” and said that there’s a plan in the works to deal with those who aren’t.
Conway said she wouldn’t be giving up information on how they plan to attack the ongoing leak issue, but explained that there are several reasons why staffers would leak.
“Some leaks exist to hurt colleagues, some leaks exist because they disagree with the policies that are being put forth,” she said. “None of them are helpful.”
Conway hinted the leaks have lessened since the Trump administration first took office, but hinted at a troubling trend she’s witnessed.
“It’s not so much leaking as using the media to shiv each other,” she said. “That was going on quite a bit at the beginning of the administration but it’s less so now.”
Conway’s comments come in response to a tweet from President Trump earlier on Monday where he blasted leakers as “traitors and cowards.”
“We will find out who they are!” Trump wrote.
The so-called leaks coming out of the White House are a massive over exaggeration put out by the Fake News Media in order to make us look as bad as possible. With that being said, leakers are traitors and cowards, and we will find out who they are!

Conway continued to back Trump’s remarks to MacCallum.
“I think the president is on solid ground here, that if you work at the pleasure of the president like we all do here and you have the privilege and the blessing of coming every day to work in this White House on behalf of the nation that we all love then you want to be competent, you want to be loyal and you ought to be able to reinforce the agenda that prevailed here.”
Conway said she spoke with the president on the subject and told MacCallum that she’s expecting to see changes when it comes to staffers leaking information.
The administration is currently under fire after a staffer “shived” W.H. aide Kelly Sadler for mocking “dying” John McCain in a closed-door meeting.

Sadler reportedly called the McCain family to apologize, but the media has been relentless in its coverage of the tasteless quip, demanding she be fired from the White House.
So far, the Trump administration has resisted the media’s incessant demands.
