Congressman plans to nominate President Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize, unlike Obama, he earned it

A GOP congressman has announced he will nominate President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize for his role in  the historic meeting between Korean leaders and their plan to work towards denuclearization.

Rep. Luke Messer intends to nominate the president following the meeting between North Korea’s Kim Jong Un and South Korea’s President Moon Jae-in on Thursday as the two agreed to end the 65-year-old war in the Korean peninsula.

Accolades poured in for Trump as Kim Jong Un became the first North Korean leader to step across the southern border since the end of the Korean War in 1953. North Korea had recently announced that it would suspend nuclear testing and shut down a nuclear site.

Many, such as South Korea’s foreign minister, gave Trump the credit for bringing the nations together, despite the left’s hyperventilating every time the president condemned “Rocket Man” Kim Jong Un.

“We are seeing unprecedented progress toward peace, and it’s a direct result of President Trump’s strong leadership.” Messer said in a statement on his plan to nominate Trump. “Following this historic announcement, President Trump should get the Nobel Peace Prize. Our peace through strength strategy is delivering never before seen results.”

The Indiana Republican is reportedly “actively gathering support from his colleagues to nominate the President for the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize,” according to the press release.

Messer last month declared that Trump should be “well on his way to his own Nobel Peace Prize” if he succeeded in  persuading North Korea to disarm its nuclear capabilities.

While many would admit it is hard to recall what former President Obama did to earn the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009 shortly after taking office, a clear swell of voices is already declaring Trump has earned the honor.

South Carolina Sen. Lindsaey Graham admitted the turn of events with the Koreans would “not have happened without Trump.”
