John Legend pressures Kanye to denounce Trump in private text–doesn’t get response he’d hoped for

Kanye West’s level of “wokeness” is next-level based on his text exchanges with friend John Legend. Legend was upset that West has publicly voiced his support for President Donald Trump and tried to get Kanye to disavow him.

Legend wrote in a text: “I hope you’ll reconsider aligning yourself with Trump. You’re way too powerful and influential to endorse who he is and what he stands for. As you know, what you say really means something to your fans…So many people who love you feel so betrayed right now because they know the harm that Trump’s policies cause, especially to people of color.”

Kanye responded by posting Legend’s text on Twitter, and accused Legend of trying to manipulate him by using his fans as leverage.

West retorted: “I love you John and I appreciate your thoughts. You bringing up my fans or my legacy is a tactic based on fear used to manipulate my free thought.”

When Legend realized that Kanye is free thinker who cannot be manipulated or brainwashed, he immediately backed off.

Legend replied: “Think freely. Think with empathy and context too. Your words and actions have consequences. Much love. And since you’re posting texts, let me add that I have a new single out haha.”

The incident illustrates the quasi-bullying and pressure — both subtle and overt — that minority Trump supporters experience when they defect from the Democratic Plantation and think for themselves.

“I have learned that The Left would like their slaves back,” black conservative Trump supporter Candace Owens said. “They created a system where black people are ideological slaves.”

Despite some backlash Kanye got from turncoat liberal fans, he double-downed on his support for President Trump in a series of tweets that underscored that he will not be intimated or bullied.

“Obama was in office for eight years and nothing in Chicago changed,” West tweeted.

Now if only other celebrities, like Canadian country singer Shania Twain, had a backbone just like Kanye. Unlike West, Twain immediately apologized for saying she would have voted for President Trump amid backlash from “tolerant” liberals.

As BizPac Review previously reported, that was a pretty dumb business move by Shania, since many of the 95 million country-music fans in the United States are Trump supporters. And they buy waaay more country music than Canada’s country music fans (estimated total: 3.8 million).
