HLN and CNN Political Commentator. S.E. Cupp offered Melania Trump her unsolicited advice, claiming the first lady must be “reeling” from reports of alleged affairs by her husband.
Deciding that the president’s wife is “like the rest of us,” Cupp called on Mrs. Trump to leave her “jerk” husband President Donald Trump and not be like Hillary Clinton who was “humiliated” but stayed with her husband, former president Bill Clinton, she wrote in an op-ed for the New York Daily News
“I’ve heard the stories swirling around, the president described in a number of ways, scandalous, tabloid trash. But the word that comes to my mind is humiliating,” Cupp said Tuesday on HLN’s “S.E. Cupp Unfiltered.”
“The president of the United States is being sued by a porn star over an alleged affair they had years ago. It is humiliating for the country certainly that the figurehead of the Republican party—not too long ago the party of family values—is alleged to have had another affair with a Playmate just after his son was born is humiliating for the GOP, or it should be anyway,” she continued. “But worst of all, that Donald Trump has very likely cheated on his wife multiple times. And that this is all playing out very publicly is particularly humiliating for Melania Trump. While it’s hard to imagine she didn’t know who she married, she’s also just a woman, a wife, and a mother, like the rest of us. There’s a real person in there, and she must be reeling.”
The first lady’s private decisions about her personal life are apparently “formative” and will leave an indelible print on “a generation of young girls,” Cupp elaborated.

“What she does next is no small thing. It might just be tabloid fodder to gossip rags or political chum for Hill watchers, but for a generation of young girls, Melania’s next move could be formative,” Cupp said, explaining how a 1992 interview of the Clintons is “burned” in her mind as Hillary tried “to put a fresh veneer on her embattled candidate husband.”
“Over those years, Hillary became for me what she became for many women, the literal definition of stand by your man,” Cupp said, describing Clinton as a woman who was humiliated over and again by her husband.
“Now Melania may not have a political career to consider, but as first lady, she is an inherently important figure in American politics, and women are watching. Particularly young women,” Cupp concluded her monologue. “Melania should do for this generation of girls what Hillary Clinton did not do for mine, and leave her jerk of a husband.”
Cupp’s opnion piece and on air rant came days after a “60 Minutes” interview with adult-film star Stormy Daniels who claims to have had an alleged affair with Trump. The president has denied the allegations by her and former Playboy model Karen McDougal, who also claimed to have had an affair with him during his marriage to the first lady.
Meanwhile, the first lady may not really be interested in what an HLN host thinks her next move should be. A spokeswoman for Trump said she is “focused on being a mom” to the couple’s 12-year-old son, Barron.

Many have come to Melania’s defense, with both men and women condemning the incessant “news” coverage of the allegations. Adult film actress Jenna Jameson slammed Stormy Daniels for her allegations and warned the porn star is committing “career suicide.”
Meanwhile on Twitter, Cupp was called out for butting in where she was clearly not invited, as users blasted the left’s crusade to humiliate the first lady.
OR – we women could respect other women’s decisions about their private and complex personal relationships with out judgement. #radical

Other people’s marriages are nobody’s business but their own, even the First Family.

who are you to know what’s going on in their relationship? I understand you want her to send a message to girls out there that this is not ok but you know whose job is it to do that? their parents!!!

Interfering in a couple’s marriage is not up for debate among public opinion. I don’t care for Trump, but what they decide to do about their marriage is none of our business.

In my opinion the The idea that other people should make the decision or even encourage one person to leave another person for this kind of thing is repulsive. Even for public people it’s a private matter and remember there are kids involved

You know nothing about their marriage. You are assuming she is putting up with “a jerk”, even though you have no proof what you hear is true. I give Melanie intelligence and self-respect enough to decide for herself!

The queen of ignorant snarkism speaks! It’s none of your business in either case. The Clintons worked it out as was their right. You and you “generation” survived. Trumps may or may not, but again, butt out. Retire or something. Your voice isn’t needed.

It is a ridiculous premise that a woman should leave her husband for the benefit of other people…etc. That is frigging ridiculous. That consideration may apply within families re: children, or oneself, but your suggestion is obscene.

What an immature thing to say. HRC did not “owe” YOUR generation of girls squat and MT owes squat as well. Ppl make personal decisions for PERSONAL reasons. An adult would know that. You have a lot of maturing to do, little girl. Jesus.
