Netanyahu: It’s great to be in America’s capital now that Trump’s recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reaffirmed his nation’s special relationship with the United States under the Trump administration in a speech given at the  American Israel Public Affairs Committee on Tuesday.

Netanyahu gave his gratitude to President Trump for recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, formalizing an American commitment that was made under the Clinton administration.

“It is always great to be here, but as I told President Trump yesterday, it’s especially great to be in America’s capital now that he has recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital,” Netanyahu told the crowd at AIPAC. “Thank you, President Trump, for that historic decision.”

President Trump also invited Benjamin Netanyahu to attend the opening of the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem in May during their meeting at the Oval Office, as reported by the Liberty Council.

Even the First Lady and Mrs. Netanyahu spent time bonding during the visit, both adorned in pale blue, and Melania Trump showing off matching metallic stillettos.

“Great visit with Prime Minister Benjamin & Mrs. Netanyahu! Enjoyed hosting Sarah Netanyahu for lunch to discuss how we can make a better and safer world for children,” Mrs. Trump tweeted.

Overall, it was another successful visit between the two nations. Watch Prime Minister Netanyahu’s praise of the Trump administration below:
