Georgia police officers took a Dalton County teacher into custody Wednesday afternoon after the teacher reportedly opened fire in a classroom.
Dalton County police were able to take the teacher into custody after they barricading themselves in a classroom, according to a statement put out on the police’s official Twitter account.
There is a barricaded subject in a classroom. It is believed to be a teacher.

Police took the students to NW GA Trade and Convention Center for safety and told parents to meet up with them there. One student got an ankle injury from running during the evacuation.
Police do not have any other information to offer on the identity of the subject, the department added in a tweet.
