A majority of Americans are sure that senior federal law enforcement officials broke the law in their attempts to keep President Donald Trump from winning the election.
A new Rasmussen Reports survey revealed that more than 80 percent of voters believe it’s “likely” that laws were broken to prevent a Trump presidency.

“How likely is it that senior federal law enforcement officials broke the law in an effort to prevent Donald Trump from winning the presidency?” the poll, conducted on February 5-6, asked.
The survey found that 50 percent of “Likely U.S. Voters” believed it was at least “Somewhat Likely” that FBI and Justice Department officials crossed the line. Another 32 percent found it was “Very Likely.” Only 25 percent of those surveyed felt it was “Not At All Likely” that these officials broke the law while 40 percent felt it was just “Not Likely.”

The poll, with a margin of sampling error of +/- 3 percentage points, surveyed 1,000 “Likely U.S. Voters” and followed on the heels of last week’s release of a controversial memo put together by House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes which alleged surveillance abuses by the FBI during the election campaign.
The once-secret memo asserted that the FBI used the unverified dossier compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele, and funded by the Clinton campaign and Democratic National Committee, to secure surveillance warrants on Carter Page, a former Trump campaign adviser.
It seems Americans are taking the allegations and the findings seriously as half of the nation now finds the integrity of senior law enforcement agencies questionable. An earlier Rasmussen Reports poll found that voters were divided over whether Russia or the FBI did more meddling in the 2016 presidential election.
