CNN’s Don Lemon pointed a finger at President Trump, blaming him for rhetoric that caused a man to allegedly threaten to kill employees of the network.
Lemon pointed to the use of the term “fake news” by the suspect as reason to hold Trump personally responsible for the actions of the Michigan man who was arrested last week following an FBI investigation. “Fake news. I’m coming to gun you all down,” 19-year-old Brandon Griesemer allegedly said during one call to CNN headquarters in Atlanta, Ga.
.@DonLemon: There’s “nothing random” about the arrest of a Michigan man who threatened to kill CNN employees. “This is what happens when the President of the United States repeatedly attacks members of the press simply for reporting facts he does not like” https://t.co/b7oXT900iO

“There’s nothing random about this. Nothing,” Lemon said on the air Tuesday. “This is what happens when the president of the United States, Donald Trump, repeatedly attacks members of the press simply for reporting facts he does not like.”
The CNN host then directly addressed the president, asking, “What grade are you in?”
“Fake news. I wonder where he got those words,” Lemon asked, showing various video clips of Trump using the term against the news media.
“When you make that baseless and incendiary charge, be aware that people are listening to you. Some very dangerous people,” Lemon continued, vowing “no matter how many times you attack us as fake news, we will continue to do our jobs.”
He warned Trump that people “take that message seriously.”

“And if one of us is hurt . . . it won’t be a fake injury or, sadly, a fake death. It’ll be real,” he said. “And how will you answer those questions then, not only from journalists but from our loved ones? Because you’re going to have to do it. Let’s hope it doesn’t happen. Let’s hope you see the error of your ways.”
There is certainly no love lost between the president and the network, with Trump recently tweeting about the government shutdown standoff on Tuesday, referring to “Crazy Jim Acosta of Fake News CNN.” Lemon, who has also come under attack by the president, has become increasingly more vocal in his criticisms of Trump, recently calling him a “racist” for his alleged description of certain nations as “sh*thole countries.”

One would be hard pressed to find similar finger pointing at liberals following last year’s shooting of Rep. Steve Scalise, a Louisiana Republican, by a gunman targeting all GOP members of a Congressional baseball team.
A historic moment occurred over at “The View” as a result of Lemon’s rant, with co-hosts Meghan McCain and Joy Behar actually agreeing on a point.
“All of us on TV,” she said “are a target one way or another, which is why I agree with you – sometimes what we do is dangerous.” McCain then reiterated Behar’s argument that the First Amendment protects free speech, even if critics don’t like the president calling CNN “fake news.”

Twitter users still slammed Lemon for his disrespect and double standard.
No one said they deserved death threats — of course they don’t. But Don Lemon blamed President Trump for them and that’s just more ridiculous fake news. They’ve made their bed so now they can sleep in it

Trump’s criticism of their fake news was justified. This other dude went off on his own. Are ALL Democrats responsible for the acts of their crazies? What about the guy that shot Scalize? Dems said GOP was causing death!

there’s the problem. passing blaming without facts. @CNN believes that opinions are facts.
— RolSkii (@RDowai) January 24, 2018
No you pathetic excuse for a “news” anchor. THIS is what happens when an entire network obsesses over a single story for over a year, often-times resorting to reporting stories that are either misleading or totally “Fake News”
— Todd Headlee (@ToddHeadleeAZ) January 24, 2018
You don’t report facts, you report bull shit about Russia and Don JR and Trump’s mental health, and fake narratives like hands up don’t shoot go ask @SteveScalise about the hate that you sow in this country. @donlemon
