James Franco won the Golden Globe for best actor in a musical or comedy for the film “The Disaster Artist” Sunday night, but Hugh Jackman’s stunned face won the internet.
Franco beat out Jackman, who was nominated for “The Greatest Showman,” as well as Steve Carrell (“Battle of the Sexes”), Ansel Elgort (“Baby Driver”) and Daniel Kaluuya, who was nominated for “Get Out.”
Franco read his acceptance speech from his phone (video below) while Jackman looked shell-shocked sitting in the audience. The Australian hunk was heavily favored to win for his role as P.T. Barnum in “The Greatest Showman,” where he sings, acts and dances.

Jackman’s wife, Deborra-lee Furness, could not hide her disappointment as the TV cameras panned the audience during Franco’s madcap acceptance speech.
Jackman’s hilarious facial expression went viral, as Twitter commiserated with the “Wolverine” star, who probably thought he was going to win the Golden Globe award (just like everyone else did).
Jackman previously won a Golden Globe in 2013 for his stirring portrayal of Jean Valjean in “Les Misérables.”

Twitter fans joked about Hugh Jackman’s priceless, frozen facial expression.
“Hugh Jackman’s face…is my new favorite reaction to everything ever,” one fan wrote.

Because of his freewheeling and unconventional lifestyle, people often forget that James Franco is actually a talented actor who once had a promising career.
In 2002, a 21-year-old Franco won the best actor Golden Globe award for his portrayal of film icon James Dean in a TV movie.
