Women strike back… Sunday night’s 75th annual Golden Globes award show should be one for the books.
Amid reports that formal black gowns are in short supply in Tinsel Town as part of a planned anti-sexual harassment protest on the red carpet, actress Evan Rachel Wood is calling on those who have previously been tagged as abusers to be identified.
…by forming a human circle around them.
Wood tweeted: “Hey! Persons’ attending the #GoldenGlobes this Sun. If you see a predator but dont feel you can say anything publicly, gather a handful of people and make a circle around them. The room will know. ✊?”

The “Westworld” star then assured followers there will be circles forming, or better yet, the plan may persuade abusers to stay away.
She tweeted: “we are going to see some circles this weekend, or because of this idea some predators wont bother showing up in the first place out of fear.”

The tsunami of sexual harassment scandals that have surfaced in Hollywood since the exploits of sexual predator Harvey Weinstein came to light will serve as a backdrop to Sunday’s show and actresses are being encouraged to wear all-black as a form of silent protest.

Wood has said previously that she was sexually abused by “very powerful, very rich, very entitled, very narcissistic white men.”
She is one of the actresses calling for attendees to wear black as a show of solidarity, as is Alyssa Milano.

Women in Hollywood are coming together to say enough is enough when it comes to sexual harassment.
Led by the crème de la crème of Hollywood royalty, Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston, more than 300 women in the entertainment industry came together to sign a “letter of solidarity,” which kicked off an initiative titled, “Time’s Up.”

Page Six reported that Wood said she “walked out in tears” last time she went to the Golden Globes after someone who abused a close friend won an award.
“But I worked up the courage to go up to them afterwards and just say two words. ‘I know,’” Wood said. “Hopefully they don’t even show up this time.”
The New York Times said tonight’s winners are expected “to use their moments of glory to rail against the systemic sexism and silence that allowed the behavior of men like Harvey Weinstein, James Toback, Louis C.K. and Kevin Spacey to fester for decades.”
Actress Rose McGowan, who has called out Milano for her complicity with Weinstein, last month set her sights on Meryl Streep, who is expected to join in wearing black at the awards show.
“Actresses, like Meryl Streep, who happily worked for The Pig Monster, are wearing black @GoldenGlobes in a silent protest. YOUR SILENCE is THE problem. You’ll accept a fake award breathlessly & affect no real change. I despise your hypocrisy. Maybe you should all wear Marchesa,” she tweeted.
