Reports of a new Justice Department investigation into the Clinton Foundation caught the attention of many who have been demanding a probe into the organization’s activities for years.
That included actor James Woods who sees the launch of an investigation as the sign of another campaign promise kept by President Trump.
He’s waited until now to fulfill that simple promise casually uttered during the debates: “You’d be in jail.” #ClintonFoundation pic.twitter.com/yzy5aSsI3A

“He’s waited until now to fulfill that simple promise casually uttered during the debates,” Woods tweeted Thursday.
The debate he was referring to was the second presidential debate between Trump and failed Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in October 2016.
“If I win,” Trump warned Clinton the stage, “I’m going to instruct my attorney general to get a special prosecutor to look into your situation, because there’s never been so many lies, so much deception.”
“It’s just awfully good that someone with the temperament of Donald Trump is not in charge of the law in our country,” Clinton responded.
“Because,” Trump fired back, “you’d be in jail.”
James Comey stole four FBI “classified” documents and the info was leaked to the NY Times: Report
The new FBI probe is reportedly looking into whether the Clinton Foundation engaged in any “pay-to-play” politics during Hillary Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state.
Woods’ hearkening back to Trump’s words in the 2016 campaign sparked reaction on Twitter.
Looks like he’s right. 2018 is going to be a great year 🙂
