Jimmy Kimmel returned to his show with infant son in tow to deliver a tear-filled slam against Republicans.
Kimmel had taken a week off while his son, who was born in April, recovered from follow-up heart surgery. Still raw from what was undoubtedly a difficult week for any dad, Kimmel almost immediately started crying as he began his monologue to slam the Republican Congress over healthcare and tax cuts on Monday.
“Parents with children together with cancer and diabetes and heart problems are about to get a letter saying their coverage could be cut off next month,” Kimmel pleaded.
The late show host argued to keep the funding in place for C.H.I.P. – Children’s Health Insurance Program. Kimmel slammed the GOP for letting the bi-partisan program expire and accused them of using the program as a “bargaining chip.”
“This happened because Congress, about 72 days ago, failed to approve funding for CHIP,” he continued.
Kimmel didn’t end before parroting the Democrat talking point that the proposed tax cuts would only benefit the rich and called Congress “disgusting” for putting the tax plan before children’s health.
“This is literally a life and death program for American kids, it always had bipartisan support, but this year they let the money for it expire while they work on getting tax cuts for their millionaire and billionaire donors.”
This was far from Kimmel’s first tear-filled plea. He has mockingly been called “America’s conscience” for using his show to rail against Republicans in emotional rants.
While Kimmel’s son is adorable and everyone is hoping for his speedy recovery, Kimmel has never seemed concerned about those who can’t afford sky rocketing premiums and have limited access to doctors thanks to former President Obama’s unaffordable health care act.
Many also slammed the comedian for using his little boy as a “political prop.”
After taking weeks off from being "America's Conscience" while his celebrity pals get slammed for sexual harassment, Jimmy Kimmel is back & again using his son as a political prop.
This time he's using Billy to spread lies about CHIP funding, which has passed the House.

I see Jimmy Kimmel is back to being America's conscience after weeks of not being America's conscience because that would involve going after powerful people in his own industry.

C.H.I.P. has reportedly passed the House in November but has yet to pass the Senate.
Kimmel also received a ton of support for his monologue including gushing praise from fellow celebs and mega Dems like career Illinois senator Dick Durbin. Kimmel even received a shout out from disgraced former DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
Every American should ask why Republicans have decided to put tax cuts for billionaires ahead of health care for sick children. The answer isn’t pretty. https://t.co/f785Zn53vO

Sure, that’ll help.
