President Trump blasted the “hemorrhaging” National Football League for not imposing penalties on players who continued to protest during the national anthem.
“Players are the boss!” Trump tweeted Friday, slamming the NFL for allowing the “disrespect for our Country, our Flag, our Anthem.”

The president’s remarks came in response to the decision by NY Giants defensive end Olivier Vernon to kneel during the anthem at a Thanksgiving Day game. Adding insult to injury, “The Star-Spangled Banner” was being sung by a Master Sergeant of the United States Army.

Trump has continued his feud with the league and its players after telling team owners they should fire any players who refuse to stand during the national anthem.
Meanwhile, the protests continue to drain the NFL as ratings and attendance at games have plummeted.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has been criticized for not ending the protests with penalties against the players while he is in the midst of contract re-negotiations, reportedly demanding nearly $50 million as an annual salary and private jet service for life.
