After Sean Hannity gave Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore 24 hours to clear his name in sexual harassment allegations against him, the Fox News host called the accusations “beyond disturbing and serious.”
“I don’t rush to judgment, and I said these allegations are so serious, this should all transcend politics. Sadly, it’s not, but it should. I’m never going to apologize for not rushing to judgment. The issue of presumption of innocence is important to all of us,” he said Wednesday on “Hannity.”
“However, these allegations are beyond disturbing and serious,” he added. “I have a 16-year-old daughter.”
On his show Tuesday, Hannity called on Moore to address the “inconsistencies” in his responses to several allegations of sexual misconduct with teenage girls decades ago.
Two more accusers recounted their alleged experiences with Moore on Wednesday. Tina Johnson claimed Moore had groped her in 1991 when she was 28. Moore was married at the time. Kelly Harrison Thorp alleged that she turned down Moore’s advances on her when she was a 17 year-old high school senior.
Moore has repeatedly denied engaging in sexual misconduct with the women who previously accused him and responded to Hannity’s ultimatum to discredit the allegations with a letter, which the Fox News host read on the air Wednesday.

“I adamantly deny the allegations of Leigh Corfman and Beverly Nelson, did not date underage girls, and have taken steps to begin a civil action for defamation,” Moore’s letter read, noting two of his accusers. “Because of that, at the direction of counsel, I cannot comment further.”
Moore added that he was “in the process of investigating” the “false allegations.”

Criticism over Hannity’s interview with Moore last week led several companies to pull their advertising from his show. The embattled GOP candidate admitted in that interview that he had dated teens in his 30s, but he denied having sexual contact with a 14-year-old girl.
Hannity’s fans responded to Keurig’s decision to pull ads by launching a boycott and smashing their coffee machines in protest.
On Wednesday’s broadcast, Hannity did not call on Moore to drop out of the race but noted that the people of the state of Alabama deserve to know the truth.
“In my opinion, the people of Alabama—they need to know the truth,” he said. “Whatever it means to get to the truth… the Alabama people deserve that.”
