MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski again addressed the scandal surrounding her “friend” Mark Halperin and his suspension by NBC following allegations of sexual harassment.
A regular part of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Halperin was suspended by the network Thursday, hours after the accusations by five female former coworkers were revealed. Brzezinski addressed the breaking story before the suspension was announced Thursday.
On Friday, she spoke again on behalf of herself and co-host Joe Scarborough about the colleague who allegedly propositioned female coworkers for sex, groped women’s breasts and kissed them without consent during his tenure at ABC News.
“Mark and Karen have been a part of Morning Joe’s extended family for years, they’re our friend,” Brzezinski began, mentioning Halperin’s wife.

“I’ve spoken to, and heard from, some of these women. I feel their pain and I understand the difficult position they were in, because I’ve been through enough in this business to know what I hear,” Brzezinski said.
“I will speak for both Joe and myself here: Our hearts break for both Mark and his family, because he is our friend,” she concluded, saying they “fully support” NBC’s decision.
