Disney CEO Bob Iger gave green light for left-wing agenda on network: ‘we’ve given ESPN license to do it’

ESPN has become a left-wing cesspool because its corporate overlord, Bob Iger, has encouraged the move.

Iger is CEO of the Walt Disney Company, which owns ESPN and several other media companies.

Iger stands behind ESPN host Jemele Hill’s race-baiting defamation of President Trump, and supports NFL players who refuse to stand for the national anthem.

Iger, who apparently suffers from “white guilt,” said he’s sympathetic to blacks who feel discriminated against. Why? Because he’s white and doesn’t understand what that feels like. Iger obviously has not been keeping up with the news lately, as leftist calls for violence against whites go unchallenged by the media.

“I’ve not ever experienced prejudice and certainly not racism, so it’s hard for me to understand what they’re feeling about this, what it feels like to experience racism,” Iger said recently (via Deadline).

“So I felt that we need to take into account what Jemele and other people at ESPN were feeling at this time. That resulted in us not taking action on the tweet that she put out … we’ve given ESPN license to do it.”

Basically, Iger said ESPN decided not to fire Hill for calling the president of the United States and the 63 million Americans who voted for him “white supremacists” because he felt sorry for her and other aggrieved blacks.

“There were a lot of people out there that were outraged, particularly black people [after Charlottesville],” he said.

Meanwhile, ratings for ESPN, and for NFL games in particular, plummeted in 2016 after quarterback Colin Kaepernick stopped standing for the national anthem. ESPN and NFL fans are overwhelmingly right-leaning.

Iger said he’s a patriot but has no problem with athletes who choose to disrespect the flag. “Having earned the voice that they’ve earned as successful athletes to speak out on various issues that are meaningful to them, so we’ve given ESPN license to do it,” he  said.

But don’t expect Bob to sit out the anthem. “I happen to believe in the national anthem, and I stand up when it’s played and I’d like everybody else to,” he said. “But I just think we’ve got to take into account what we’re seeing societally and what people are feeling. A little empathy in that regard would go a long way.”

Fans were upset that Jemele Hill wasn’t fired because ESPN had fired other on-air personalities over smaller infractions.

In February 2017, ESPN fired commentator Doug Adler over a benign remark that was mistakenly viewed by illiterate moonbats as a racial slur. Adler had described Venus Williams’ tennis strategy as “the guerrilla effect,” meaning an aggressive, take-no-prisoners style of play.

Race-baiting grievance mongers misinterpreted his remark as “gorilla” and got him fired. Adler had a heart attack caused by the stress and has since filed a massive wrongful termination lawsuit. In 2016, ESPN fired baseball analyst Curt Shilling for posting a meme about transgender bathrooms.

In August, ESPN pulled an Asian-American broadcaster named Robert Lee from announcing a football game because they were afraid to trigger liberals who might confuse him with dead white Confederate general Robert E. Lee.

Fox News star Jesse Watters slammed ESPN’s double standards. Watters said if a white anchor had attacked former president Barack Obama the way Jemele Hill trashed President Trump, they would’ve been fired immediately.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones to players: Disrespect the flag and you’re benched!

Watters also pointed out that ESPN’s audience is mostly white males, so why alienate your viewers by suggesting they’re racists? That’s essentially the stance that today’s leftists have adopted: That all whites are racist, not just some.

Update: ESPN suspended Jemele for 2 weeks after she urged advertisers to boycott the Dallas Cowboys, whose owner has vowed to bench any player who refuses to stand for the national anthem.
